Oh it’s so bad! He had a plan, but it just completely fell apart and he couldn’t recover. Then he hit paranoia level 3,000 and made it all worse.
I know they need to keep coming up with new hooks, but I’m not sure how I feel about the team-play set up. Didn’t they try something like this before and abandon it pretty quickly?
I don’t recall, but that doesn’t mean much. He’s made himself such a big target though. I don’t know if I remember anyone making such big mistakes right out of the gate like this.
I don’t think I’ve seen this bad of a first HOH either. To his credit, he’s made it more interesting for the viewers, though.
I read that Naomi and her boyfriend broke up. She moved to NYC for/with him and found out that he had been cheating on her with one of his exes. Seems to have been going on for, at least, a year. I feel bad for her. I didn’t like her boyfriend. Craig was better.
Teen Mom 2 - oooh boy it's getting difficult to watch. Some of the stories, cough Jade cough Bri, are venturing into the uncomfortable zone where the Janelle and Farrah stories went before they were removed. Amber is there now and Kail borders it, but they are still raking in the ratings/bucks. I wish MTV would offer some sort of counseling with these shows. Like Hoarders when they provide after care funds and counseling. There's just too much. I know it wasn't the show, but look how much better Leah is doing after she got help for her issues and now I can watch her again because I'm not worried for the safety of the girls. I suppose having healthy/functioning lives doesn't make for good tv though.
Speaking of unhealthy, Sonja for RHONY, lay off the sauce. And Bershan isn't adding anything. Bye, girl, bye. Ramona and her white privilege can eff the right off too. More Eboni. Less Leah.

I haven’t watched this week’s Teen Mom, but I agree with you. Jade seems like the woman who needs the most counseling, since everyone she surrounds herself with is toxic as fuck. I have no words for Kail, except how can she continue to have unprotected sex with these different men? It’s gotta be so confusing for her children.
So freaking messy, and I'm loving it for that. Miss Bahamas is terrible. "I won't mention pageants" 10 minutes later "I'm Miss Bahamas and went to Moscow. Having a long burn list started long before her dad died, so can't claim grief. Gets pissed her boss is trying to train someone to move up. Worst attitude I've seen in a long time. Tries to boss around the bosun and chef. I'm not a Sandy fan, but I want her to witness Lexi talking back to a superior and refusing a command, or, even better, have Lexi refuse to Sandy's request. I want her to say to Sandy's face that doing her job is unfair and that she can't read minds and is required to use basic common sense.
The "daddy" and "that's my American accent" while sounding like a porno. Being a nanny who can't set up a basic play pen.
"Chef" who threw water on a grease fire after carrying a flaming pot across the galley. Not doing crew meals. The only thing I liked about him was singing Flight of the Conchords.
I'm pretty sure Lloyd did the same with an adapted version of too many dicks (on the dance floor) with his too many men on the boat. So far, I really like Lloyd. Doesn't take himself seriously at all and has traveled in far less glamorous transport. Haven't seen him slacking or complaining yet.
I just got caught up on last week's HWs, too, but, meh, not really caring about any of it other than Sutton is a goddamn loon. Normally I hate comments about hormones causing someone's behavior, but loved Garcelle saying she's never seen so much hormonal behavior and she has 2 teen boys. Made me laugh.
Is that the casting in Houston or whatever it's called. It might be available on the app already b/c I've already seen it in my sources I use for viewing things overseas

Has anyone been watching masterchef US? They had Paula Deen as a "legend" FFS! The rest of the legends have been pretty good, morimoto especially (I spoke to him in line at customs once. In Japanese!). Does the level of talent of these cooks seem a bit off? I don't know if they're younger or less experienced or if I've been spoiled by the Australian version. Which btw just aired episode 62, so it's not a fair comparison as they cook a helluva lot more, not to mention the Fox reality show shenanigans which AU doesn't have.
As an aside, I love AU b/c the judges dig in with gusto and don't usually try to do fakeouts. I've never seen a judge do anything remotely like Joe does. Even when a dish sucks they'll be like "there were some good elements, but you know where you went wrong. Cheer up, mate"

I am watching Masterchef and you're right, something is lacking. They also seem to have changed the format and done away with team challenges and elimination rounds. I thought it was extremely tone deaf to have Paula Dean, but the others have been enjoyable.

I watch MC. They seem to be a very weak bunch, and I agree, that the formatting of just individual challenges seems lacking. I much prefer Hell’s Kitchen.

One thing that makes AU great is often they'll start the week (Mon) with a mystery box which is for immunity for the week rather than elimination. There's no risk, only reward, so they get really innovative. Contrast that to the strategy being to just stay safe (boring) in US.
Also, the judges in AU praise people of all backgrounds bringing the flavors they grew up with. There's just so much diversity. Whereas Joe (I think) said to a Burmese woman "this is the first time you're not cooking Asian." Do you think he'd make a comment about people cooking only European?! She's not even cooking only Burmese food which, btw, is insanely delicious.
I know that AU adjusted last year due to covid and so couldn't do the same types of team challenges since they couldn't engage with the public. It seems as though the US hasn't figured it out and instead just isn't doing them. AU does things like relay or switch. They did 2 delivery challenges this year, one to various hospitals and the other their version of uber eats. It can be done! Not all team challenges have to be serve 100 service members.

MC shows several times a week in AU right? I can’t keep up with it because of the number of shows, but maybe there’s a happy medium between the two.

Yeah, I'm about 10 eps behind which is 2.5 wks. It airs m-w and Sunday is usually the elimination. Which is why I didn't write it as s-w I can usually keep up until the mid 30s. Quite often I don't even watch the finale since by the time I get around to it I've been spoiled. Also, the eps are often longer than an hour, and that's not including commercials. It's a time suck for sure!
MTV Challenge update: new season premieres on August 11. CT, Fessy, Devin, Amanda, Ashley M, Aneesa, Nany, Josh, Big T, Kyle, Nam, Nelson, Cory, Kasey, Tori, Amber B are the vets returning. A whole SLEW of newbs have been cast (large contingent from international reality shows), but notably US-based: Michaela, Tommy & Michele from Survivor. Notably(?) absent vets: Cara Maria, Wes, Jordan, Laurel, Jenny .
Family Karma - Loved the proposal and the happiness that came along with it! Anisha's date seemed like a great match! I love this show so much. It doesn't try hard to be something it's not and they area such awesome people.
RHOP - This season looks like it's gonna be lit! I'm not a fan of Wendy or Candiace. I hope Mia shakes things up.
RHOBH - Erika's crying scene with the mascara rolling down her face was SO performative. I really hope people don't fall for her woe is me storyline. I was surprised to see Lisa Rina's dresses in that garage. Is that normal? Does that room have a/c? While I'm not a Kyle fan, she's not on my nerves this season and her plastic surgery looks AMAZING. I do like that Crystal didn't back down after Sutton's tantrum. I'm not a Sutton fan, AT ALL. She's not genuine and she's very elitist. She deserves to be put in her place.

So SM is spreading the rumor that Maci from TM is pregnant again. I can’t find much information to confirm though.
I haven't watched since season 1, but isn't she in her late 20s/early 30s and married? Other than Bentley, does she have other kids? Yeah, she's still on reality tv where we're supposed to continue mostly judging well into adulthood, but I don't care about her reproductive choices and wonder why anyone else cares. Not a critique of you, but "again" sounds judgmental. She's no Kail.

.
I can’t wait to watch the proposal!
It was cute because the boyfriend had a conversation with Amrit’s mom beforehand, asking her if she thought marriage was in their future. And she played it off so cool! Lol! She didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
Amrit surprises me. His personality can be dry (which I love) and then he turns into a mushball when it comes to his fiancé

Was RHNYC not on this week? Or is it just delayed in uploading to my various stream options?
Jalapeñomel, I know you don't follow MCAU, but, see if you can find s13e57 (lol!). It's an awesome pressure test. It's just pure joy to watch these capable cooks tackle an extremely difficult recipe of an absolutely stunning dessert. I mean truly stunning, not Gordon Ramsey "the. most. stunning. hot dog" No way could the current US cooks come even close. You don't need to be caught up to follow. It's just cooking and only cooking. No drama. Camaraderie all around.
Oh and on Karma - The upcoming drama with Monica and her parents coming together for a dinner brings back so many flashbacks of my own parents. They've been in the same room for my HS/College graduation dinners and my wedding. In 30+ years. Maybe in the same room during a funeral or two.

My comment was more on the fact that SM is spreading rumors that can’t be verified.
Nevertheless, I think she has 4 kids now, maybe only 3.

Gotcha. These threads are pretty much my only exposure to TM universe.
Karma and Monica's concerns: my ILs hadn't seen each other in many years until our wedding. FIL literally went up to MIL and very pleasantly introduced himself thinking she was from my side. They were both adults about it and didn't cause a scene. Meanwhile my twit of a step(adoptive)mom made things a million times worse by fretting over keeping them apart amping up the stress level for all involved. The day after the wedding, my dad and FIL drank way too much scotch together and had a grand ol' time while avoiding her and her neurotic self, so they both told me.

I don't know. Most of these HW "cry" and dab at their eyes (why, hello candiace), but there's nary a tear. Mascara streaming seemed pretty real. Now, the real source of the tears... probably not related to what she was saying.
I think her THs are performative, though. IDK. Given how numb she comes across, I found it believable that Tom was a real dick behind closed doors. There are plenty of rich, powerful men who want their trophies to stay trophies and not have opinions or any of their own success. That they lasted 20 years without him trading in the old model for the new version I think there was real affection, at least from Erika's side. I'm not a fan of hers, but that all had a ring of truth.
Karma: Monica 2.0 needs to calm tf down. They've been dating for less than 6 months, and she's planning their babies. Reminds me of the bb brides on NEY. But she's 30 and a dr. I'd be running for the hills. Plus, 100k ring? Nah, piss off.

I agree.
I could see where she might have turned the other way when it came to how TG made his money. I could also see him telling her to STFU and mind her own business and she did. From what she described, he was verbal abusive towards her. It’s easy to look at the marriage and the way they lived and say how could you not know you HAD to know. Doesn’t make it okay especially when it comes to his victims.
I know I feel terrible for his victims. I don’t know how I feel about her part of it. I am certainly not falling for her woe is me stuff.
