I finished The Bombay Prince by Massey Sujata,3*. I didn't like it as much as the previous two books, but it was still good. I also finished The Greatest Beer Run Ever by John Donohue, 4.5*. I really enjoyed his crazy story. It was a quick read that is entertaining and difficult to believe. I started The Paris Library, which I am really enjoying.
QOTW: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone- I've been looking forward to this book for years. I'm also looking forward to: The Madness of Crowds, Three Sisters, and Bluebird by Sharon Cameron,
Finished: The Perfect Catch - this was my second Meghan Quinn romance and it’s refreshing to have mature adult characters in a book who communicate normally.
DNF: The Photographer
Currently Reading: Riley Thorne and the Corpse in the Closet by Lucy Score
QOTW: I’m looking forward to TL Swan’s 3rd Miles brothers book, The Casanova. I loved The Takeover, top 10 for life for me.
I read (both 4 stars): City of Light by Keri Arthur - first book in an urban fiction dystopian type series, I'm reading the second book now The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave - a kind of domestic mystery, which I liked up until the end
QOTW: I have a whole shelf on GoodReads for books I want to read that are not published yet (click here) but these are the ones I am most looking forward to: Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone (#9 Outlander) Archangel's Light (#14 Guild Hunter) The Royals Next Door by Halle (just looks cute and I like other books by this author) The Echo Chamber by Boyne (I loved all his books but the last one) Devil in Disguise by Kleypas (#7 in series, she's prob my favorite historical romance author)
I’m reading A World on the Wing, about bird migration, and I just picked up The Night Swim, so I’ll start that soon. I finished Liane Moriarty’s The Hypnotist’s Love Story, which I liked a lot more than I expected to, and Revival Season, which I expected to like more than I did.
QOTW: Louise Penny and Sherry Thomas both have the next in their series coming out soon. Also looking forward to Chuck Wendig’s book, which I think releases next week.
I read The Night Swim and The Midnight Library. I enjoyed night swim. Midnight library…I’m not sure how I feel. I gave it 3 stars but I could easily go down to 2. It felt rushed, incomplete, not quite right. The parts that were good were good but there were so few of them. It reminded me of Dark Matter but DM was so much better.
QOTW: I’m waiting for Malibu Rising from my library. I love the author and have enjoyed all of her books.

I also gave it 3 stars, but now that I've sat with it for awhile I probably should have given it 2. I also felt like I'd read it before already, but for me it wasn't Dark Matter, it was Life After Life.
I'm currently reading The Quiet Girl by S.F. Kosa. It's OK so far. I picked it up as part of the Big Library Read (which I think is already over).
QOTW: Unless I'm reading a series where I'm antsy about the next book to come out I don't really pay attention. I did add a book to my list the other day that won't be out until 2022 - The Authority Gap: Why Women Are Taken Less Seriously Than Men–and What We Can Do About It

I’ve been doing a lot of dense reading this week but most of it has been for work. After my older daughter was boohooing about how her life would change with me going back to work, I’ve tried hard to keep reading with them at night. We’re still working our way through The Secret of the Old Clock (Nancy Drew #1) with my nephew.
QOTW: I’m not too up on what’s coming out, but the kids and I read Front Desk and Three Keys by Kelly Yang, and the third one is supposed to be out in September, so we’ll try to get that.
I also gave it 3 stars, but now that I've sat with it for awhile I probably should have given it 2. I also felt like I'd read it before already, but for me it wasn't Dark Matter, it was Life After Life.
Did you like Life after Life?
It was OK. It was kind of an interesting concept that got a little tedious because it's so long. I can't remember the character's name, but each time she dies, her life restarts from the beginning, so it's kind of repetitive (although after she gets to adulthood the author starts skimming over her childhood).

I've realized that I don't enjoy these types of books (The Midnight Library, Life After Life). I can appreciate the writing, but I tend to find the characters bland and get tired of them in a neverending loop of unhappy situations.

Just finished Ordinary Grace. It was pretty good, I gave it 4 stars. My only complaint was that the timeline was hard to follow sometimes. I felt like too many things happened in too short of a time. But other than that, I really liked it.
Not sure yet what I'm picking up next but probably People We Keep.
QOTW: I'm looking forward to Velvet was the Night by Silvia Moreno-Garcia (I've read 2 of her books and liked them, though they were very different. This one sounds good!). I'm also waiting for sequels to a couple books but I have no idea when those are coming out!
