I got my Invisalign attachments taken off my upper teeth today and am officially done (got the lowers off a month ago), and scanned for retainers. It feels so weird having smooth front teeth lol. I am so glad to not have the bumps on my teeth when we're on vacation next week and taking a bunch of pictures. I know most people said they didn't notice them, but I didn't believe them, lol.
Heading to the lake beach with a friend soon. I'm off in July for 3 weeks but this is basically it for me for alone time, because daycare is closed tomorrow/Friday and then we leave for the beach. Going to have a few Corona lemonades (these are awesome, btw) in the sun and finish my book.
I posted a few weeks ago about my son's disastrous swim lessons attempt. We started a lower level parent/child class this week and he's been doing pretty well. He actually does have great potential and is learning some skills, he just needs CONSTANT redirection (if I let him, he would just jump in and out over and over again), and its an exhausting 45 minutes for me lol. Halfway through the week though!
After a really long leaseback we finally get the keys to our new house today!!!! And I found out that the old owners are getting it professionally cleaned today and are getting the locks changed for us ❤️ DH is still OOT (3 more days) but I have planned a sleepover at the new house in the new playroom for tonight so that should be fun!
It TOOK FOREVER to get my turn to get tickets. Over 2000+ people were ahead of me.
20 mins later, it was my turn and I thought for sure I would have crappy seats.
NO, two tickets showed up in the lower lever middle in front of the stage.
I clicked on the last two seats in that section.
It said...... $135/piece. OK.
Go to check out....jumped to $900. I thought...yeah sure, makes sense $450 per ticket the demand is there makes sense.
add on parking....
secure tickets.
relieved.
look at tickets.....
One ticket.
Just scored one ticket.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Panic.
Went back into the queue. 2000+ again in line. 10 min wait. Back in.
Trying to find two seats together since I'm not going to have my daughter sit by herself. Guess DH is coming along.
Couldn't find two tickets.
ugh.
FINALLY, two close together came available and grabbed those. $500/ per ticket upper level.
I just paid $2k for three ticket to see Harry Styles.
I. Am. Crazy.
This was like us trying to score Jason Isbell! It was crazy how fast they went. H and I were both trying.
Our Jason Isbell show that was postponed from Saturday last year, to Sunday this year is 2.5-3 hours away from home, and my husband's first day back to school (no students) is the next day. I have no clue what we're going to do. I want to see him at ACL!
My mom told me she had heard it’s better for teens to not get vaccinated if they already had Covid, which DS1 did. I’m not sure where she heard that (probably Fox News) and I haven’t heard that at all.
I got my boot off on Monday! I'm FINALLY walking around almost unencumbered. I have an ankle brace, but I admit, I'm not wearing it the entire time. I got to drive. I got to start going to the gym. Now I have to keep going to the gym.
DD was so excited about starting color guard this year, but when we got home from our trip, she started band camp on Monday and it was brutal. She came home that night in tears and quit halfway through on Tuesday. I'm proud of her for doing her best, and I truly think she did. She's starting high school in a month and has other things she's interested in, so I hope she's able to find something she can stick with.
It frustrates me that there are so many sports and physical activities require an all or nothing approach at this age.

Our rescheduled Jason Isbell show got moved from a nice downtown, small venue where we had actual seats to a venue over an hour away called Panther Island Pavilion that's one of those outdoor amphitheater places that looks as horrible as the name sounds and it's all general admission. Outdoors. In August. In Texas. No, thank you. So we very sadly asked for a refund.

I'm having a hard time coming up with a summer manicure I like. I have lots of colors, but I'm just 'meh' at all of them.
X came downstairs this morning telling me all about a show he'd think I like (Dr. Death) It's weird that he's at an age where he's like "I saw this ad and thought of you". I like it though.
I got my hair cut the other day and it is the PERFECT cut. I am totally in love with my stylist, lol. If anyone needs a hair stylist in the central orlando area, she will NOT disappoint you. I've sent several friends there and they thank me all the time. I've been with her since November last year and my hair is pretty fantastic now.

You are going to take the next day off. Drive him home so he can sleep. Then you sleep in!

Noooooooo! That’s terrible. Come to Nashville and see him at his residency at the Ryman. The Mother Church is worth the travel.

DD gets her second dose next week. She had Covid in Dec./Jan. Her doctors urged us to vaccinate

I would die an actual death and it would be worth it that would be so amazing.

I called my son's doctor to ask about that because he had covid in February. They still recommended the vaccine. He just got his second shot yesterday, and only had minor side effects. I was worried because my H had terrible reactions to both doses (H also had covid in Feb)

I am trying to explain a new process to someone at work and I feel like she's just not getting it. But I very much have "pandemic brain" so now I'm second guessing and wondering if I'm the one who is confused? I'm pretty sure it's her though LOL.

I made a pickle pizza for lunch today! It was interesting to say the least. Both yummy and a bit off putting. I put in way too much garlic in the garlic sauce so that was overwhelming. DH described it like eating a shawarma where they forgot to put in the meat but subbed in cheese instead.

The other day I mentioned that my thumb popped and hurt. Yesterday it was super painful and now swollen and bruised on top. So I made an appointment with my PCP for this morning. She thinks I’ve torn a tendon 😱. So now I’m waiting to hear from the hand specialists. I’m really hoping there’s a simple fix and I don’t need surgery or anything. WtaF?!

Oh his pediatrician recommended he get it along with multiple other pediatricians that I asked. She still suggested it was not recommended and that we get another opinion for DS2 when he is eligible. Apparently her consult with Dr Fox News says that’s the route we should take.
Ooooh aprilsails, that sounds interesting! I would for sure try it.
And holla! I checked in for my flight and got an offer to upgrade to First for $93 (so really $63 after the covered bag fee) so I said TREAT YO'SELF and did it.

come see him in Austin with us 😁
GTG time.
DH owes me BIG TIME after his trip this week so I have several girls trips to plan.

I would absolutely urge you to reach out to your PCP to ask this question.
My assumption is what your mom is saying is wrong. But your PCP can ease your mind. Most importantly, your child can also get vaccinated!
Edit- Nevermind I see you talked to your PCP. Good!
My iPhone 8’s battery has been lacking. So on sorta whim, I ordered a 12 today. I’m excited, but it feels weird to spend $1000 so fast!
My landlord texted me about upping the rent and signing a new lease starting in September. We’ve put a deposit down on a new house but aren’t under contract yet. I want to avoid landlord, but I should be honest and hope she will work with us.
I'm trying to get info from Ikea on how to make a tax exempt purchase (my organization does not have to pay sales tax on our purchases in my state) and it's about as easy as one would expect from Ikea, which is to say not at all. So annoyed. But the store is 40 minutes away so I'd like to know if they need me to bring anything other than my basic form before I drive there tomorrow.

I've been chipping away at Firefly Lane since Jan or Feb of this year. I read almost 90 pages during all day (waiting) jury duty yesterday, and yet I still have about 100 to go. Does this book just magically add on pages? It's so bad, but now I'm so far in I can't just not finish. I picked up a copy of "The Night Swim" that I hope to start this week too.
I was supposed to go to the Derm tomorrow, more so because I have so much flexible spending to use by 9/1. Thankfully they had me pre-check in to tell me I don't have a referral on file, and have to deal with backdating the apt. Move the apt to 9/2 since we don't get anywhere other than refills. After my next skin check I might just ask my PCP if they can prescribe the creams, because it's not worth it anymore.

omg I had to do this for one of my jobs and it was SUCH a pain in the ass. They had a form and one person would tell us we needed it and then at checkout they'd act like they had no idea what we were talking about. We needed to show them some kind of number? I don't even 100% remember, but you have my sympathies.
It seems that one of my peri-menopause PMS things is now heart burn. It's not consistent except to be around the same time I'm PMSing. I can't attribute it to any one food either. Oh yay, getting old.
PDQ. I thought I was having a private conversation with my mom, but she had it on speaker and my sister was there listening the whole time. My sister texted me and I texted her back that I no longer want contact with her and blocked her number.
I also told my mother that I want positive relationships with no toxic elements. I am done with my family's bullshit. That fact that I was on speaker without my knowledge is violating.
