A Bahamian from an island near where my family/friends are got gold in men's 400m. They are so excited and proud. It's not very populated. The biggest "city," the 3rd largest in the country, is about 5k, and he is from a much smaller settlement although on the same island.
Bahamas is doing great this year!!! We've been cheering for all the Caribbean athletes.
I am so happy for Allyson Felix. What a fight she’s had. Do you suppose Nike feels as stupid as they look not supporting the most decorated American track & field Olympian of all time.

I was pissed she had to wear Nike at the Olympics.

But she did get to run in her own brand of shoes, Saysh!!!!
Women's water polo is on. I had to google about wedgies. Those suits look very uncomfortable. WTH. Anyone know if they are comfy? Or necessary?
I haven’t played in years but the ones I wore (and the look the same to what people are wearing now) weren’t uncomfortable. You want them to be super tight so no one can grab the suit to slow you down.
This is so weird. It isn't like metropolitan France is landlocked!
Right! I have no idea what France's coastlines are like for surfing conditions but damn, do they really have to go all the way to Tahiti?
At least LA won't have this problem in 2028.
I’m guessing it is because Tahiti is a French protectorate, and they are guaranteed to have good surfing conditions at that time of year. Surfing in the Mediterranean Sea does not guarantee large waves like they would want for the competition, and the North coast of France is cold! I don’t know why they couldn’t have it there.

If you want to surf in France, you don't go to the Mediterranean sea as it doesn't really have waves. You go to the Atlantic coast, near Spain like Biarritz. That's where the big waves are.

It kind of feels like France is just showing off the fact that they still run Tahiti.
