I worked in and grew up in a boarding school. Boys' dorms are gross. Walking through them smells like the worst BO ever. Trying to keep on top of boys showering is rough work for the staff.
oooooo, y'all should try Lume. It doesn't help the wetness, but it helps with everything else.
I ordered some two weeks ago and am patiently awaiting it's actual arrival. They're backed up so processing took a few days, and now shipping has been slloooooowww because they handed it off to USPS and it's apparently (based on the shipping status updates) just going in circles through the big sorting facility 40 minutes away getting scanned about 3 times a day but never actually leaving the building.
I'm trying their unscented tube of cream and their de-stinky spray for my workout clothes. So many of my favorite running clothes have been permastinked, and I've only had partial success with detergent that supposedly fixes that. I have hopes for a more focused spray product. I run with people, and I like to grab a coffee after, so it's really not fun to get 5 minutes into a run and suddenly smell like a stale italian hoagie.
I have hopes that I can return to my former state of generally low-stinkness, because once upon a time I was not a stinky person (as confirmed by my husband who on the more washing is better side of this conversation). And then something shifted in my body chemistry and THAT IS NO LONGER TRUE. So annoying.

It’s kind of funky at first, though. I haven’t noticed much of a difference between the scents; they all have a funk.
BUT that dissipates quickly and it works great. I haven’t even noticed any underarm wetness, really.
I’m doing the Wool& 100 day dress challenge and they recommend a deodorant without baking soda, waxes, oils, aluminum, etc. (You can wash the dress, but a water-based deodorant just helps keep it in good shape - it’s better for all your clothes.)

Yes, the initial smell had me thinking that I had made a grave, hippy mistake. But then it was fine.

Or a frat house. You would think the guy's would be a bit cleaner if some of their goals were to bring women back to their rooms. But, no. So gross.
Damn. I was going to resist trying Lume. Literally all natural deodorant I’ve tried that works on my nervous sweat stank either causes me to break out in a bad rash (baking soda) or stops working randomly halfway or so through the tube.
My bf can go a couple of days without bathing and doesn’t smell at all. My dad was also like that. He could come in from mowing the lawn in the summer and - nothing. I didn’t inherit this because I definitely have a noticeable smell to others if I don’t wear antiperspirant and shower daily. I don’t shame bf for his bathing habits and he is grateful for mine.
I tried a sampler pack of Lume (the sand and bloom) and while the Jasmine Rose was seriously the most foul scent ever, the rest had an OK scent after the initial weird funk faded. I'm currently on a big tube of the Twisted Lime, and either I've gotten used to that odd smell, or the lime does a better job at masking it.
I was definitely skeptical at first, but now when I seem stinky it's always coming from older workout clothes that need to be stripped (again) and not directly from my body. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

Natural deodorant has ruined the straps of multiple leather purses for me. I don’t know what it is but that was a very expensive lesson and makes me nervous about trying any new products. I don’t have that issue with like Dove or Arm & Hammer.
But no one should use mentholated powder on sensitive places. Opposite effect. LOL
Correct.
That and Dr. Bronners peppermint soap.
I can't see anything clearly without glasses or contacts and since I can't seem to wear my contacts these days, I've been showering nearly blind. I accidentally used the peppermint soap and it nearly gave me a case of the zoomies. I share because I think it'll entertain you.

LOLOLOLOLOL! I had a similar incident before I had lasik.

how do you strip your workout clothes?
You soak them in hot water in your tub (or other large container) with powdered detergent, Borax, and washing soda (and some people also say calgon - the laundry kind, not the bubble bath - but I think you only need that if you have hard water). Then after a few hours you run everything through the washer without any more detergent (since it's been soaking in detergent) to agitate and rinse everything away.
You can also do it with an all purpose sport detergent like Rockin' Green.
I definitely helps, and I have a few tops and sports bras than need it done again, but it's not a complete miracle cure-all. I think some tech fabrics really just cling to the funk.

Lume is my favorite thing ever. I feel like my armpits are so much healthier, and I can put it anywhere! I have my whole family using it, and even my stubborn DH started and now he's a believer.
My lume arrived and I'm testign with my regular deoderant on one side and lume on the other. And I put it all over and am purposely wearing my least breathable underwear too.
And I plan to ride my bike for an hour tonight.
fingers crossed.
You guys weren't kidding on that initial funk though. I'm glad you said that because otherwise I'd have been like, "wtf, no."
I really want to know WHY it works though. Like, which of those ingredients is inhibiting the stinky bacteria?

One of my friends had a long distance relationship with a guy who lived in a house with three other male roommates. When she went to visit him, she refused to sleep with him unless he got them a hotel room. The house was that gross.
