Anyone else celebrating an 18-year wedding anniversary on a crappy Monday during a pandemic after killing two roaches last night and just getting a call from the vet that the ashes of their cat they had 17 years are ready for pick up? Just me?
((( babsbunny,))) I hope your anniversary gets better this evening!
Our townhouses closes this week. 19 days after listing. I almost don’t want to talk about it because it’s such a great offer and going so smoothly. But… I think it’s too late to jinx it. I hope. We had 6 buy tours and 5 offers. Insane.
That's a rough day. Hope you can find something to celebrate.
Our anniversary is coming up. As usual, we both shrugged when we talked about gifts. We had to replace our dishwasher and its set to be installed that day. So, stainless steel is the gift this year.

I'm glad you get some good to balance out the water issue!!

Ooo! Those are done! I can wash dishes again!
did I share the picture here? That split, draining water into the wall for who know how long.
I'm pretty sure that my main sewer line is clogged. My washing machine is backing up into my bathtub and my toilet is making gurgling noises from time to time. FML.
I ordered takeout tonight. And OMG, this place gave me a whole bowl of butter chicken sauce. Which is the whole reason I order butter chicken, to ear rice and sauce with naan. I am in heaven

ohhh, which place? MH never wants to get indian takeout, even though he really likes indian food in general. We basically lived on indian takeout in college from a food truck on campus, and I make it all the time as best I can. But he claims most restaurants make "baby food" - like that everything is just mush. It's one of those conversations we have over again roughly quarterly and I never know what to say because it's just baffling. Like I'll give you the palak paneer and dal I guess. But just...don't order those? Get some chicken and Aloo gobi and give me my goddamn naan!!
But my itch has at least partially been scratched because we replaced the belt on a treadmill for somebody, who is pakistani, and she sent us home with chickpeas and I think curry goat and some whole wheat naan as a thank you. She occasionally asks us for help with handy type stuff she can't manage (assembling furniture mostly) and always sends us home with food. I'm always all, "oh no, you dont have to. you shouldn't have, really! but omg that smells good and yes please give it to me." This round she was all, "this isn't my best cooking. sometimes it's just not as good, you know? this is only ok." and it was DELICIOUS.

Man, what bullshit weather we've been having this summer. It's been one of the coldest, wettest summers on record. None of my hydrangeas bloomed, probably because of the frost we got Memorial Day weekend, and our apples are all rotting on the trees because we've had such an insane amount of rain. We had a fire in our woodstove multiple times in July because it was so cold, which is bananas even for here. It's felt more like September or October for most of the last month.
We were really impressed! The samosas were HUGE! I got my H medium vindaloo, and he said it was excellent. Just the right mix of heat and flavor. They also had goat and lamb curries.

I'm having a really annoying day with a ton of meetings so I was going to go out to lunch at a particular restaurant nearby during the one hole in my calendar.

I haven't even heard of this place, I'll have to check it out!
We have ordered from this place a couple of times: chutneymd.com/
I thought it was great, but admittedly it's been a while since we lived near good Indian takeout so I don't have a lot to compare it to.

Back in my corporate days I worked for a tech company. The building I worked in had several Indian employees. Every once in a while, their spouses would bring in a buffet for their coworkers. My brother worked in that group so I got invited to join. omfg. It was so, so good. The first time I got invited, I ate so much that I had to go home. The pain was worth it though.

Love that place, next time try the momos from the Nepalese menu!
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
wawa, wildrice, in full disclosure, I did not order butter chicken. I ordered a tandori paneer dish, that read like it was paneer in butter chicken sauce. And I’m pretty sure that’s what it was. There was a take contained of paneer, peppers, and onions. Plus the bowl of sauce on the side. Just don’t want anyone thinking the chicken would come the same way, as I can neither confirm or deny that.

Hot Carpenter finished the woodwork 😞 and I was walking the dog when he came for the last payment. He was driving his Harley down my street on his way out and swung around to see me and ask if I like the work. He looks even hotter on his Harley. 😭 🤤
Is this what my midlife crisis looks like?
He will be back in a few months because we are going to do a coffered ceiling in the dining room.
Also, I got a pedicure and she let me stay in the chair which is a massage chair so I am enjoying that as I type.
