A five-month investigation has found that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed multiple women and violated federal and state laws while creating a "climate of fear" in the workplace, New York state Attorney General Letitia James said on Tuesday.
The inquiry showed that Cuomo engaged in unwanted groping, kissing and hugging, and made inappropriate comments, James told a news briefing, adding that the Democratic governor's office had become a "toxic" workplace that enabled "harassment to occur."

He should have resigned months ago. I don't think that will ever happen though, he will probably even run for reelection unless he faces criminal charges.

And then a shitty Republican will run against him and he'd still win. He needs to be primaried by someone strong.
He needs to go. I feel like a bizarrely high percent of governors (of both parties) are really shitty people. (Although that may be because I live in Illinois, and we’ve had some doozies.)
I am not a fan of his, though I do think he did a good job with the pandemic, especially at the beginning. (He pissed me off with how long it took until he'd give up the emergency powers. And there will always be valid challenges to how he handled the nursing homes.)
I dread the election. Basically, we're going to lose the state. I just don't see a scenario where we win if Cuomo doesn't resign now.

I was talking about this with a few friends. None of us really liked Cuomo pre-covid because his ego is legendary, even if he did good things in office. Then he filled the leadership void at the beginning of the pandemic, and we were in dire need of a leader as everyone remembers - it's akin to how we forgot we hated Rudy for a moment after 9/11. But then he let his ego get the best of him again, wasn't totally transparent about nursing home deaths, and now this.

Exactly!
And I grew up here and remember adoring his Dad. I was a kid, though. Whether those feelings were valid or not, or if I'd feel the same if I went back and dug deeper, I don't know, but those feelings hold true and I *want* to like Andrew. I just can't. Even before this, it's so obvious that he's an ass.
nope. Not based on what i saw of him today. Denial denial denial.
My guess is he won't run for re-election. But that's it.
MH thinks that too. I just have a hard time seeing a guy who was trying to parlay his national name recognition gained during early covid leadership into higher (national) office, just... declining to run for reelection. I def don't see him resigning.
If he were to decline to run again, my guess is that Tish James runs for gov next. I generally like what she's done as AG so I'd be sorry to lose her there, but I'd be good with that. But I feel like that might only increase his conviction to stay.

But is it bizarre? I feel like good people who make it into that tier of politics are the exception rather than the rule.
