What I would be most upset about for this is my antiperspirant. I NEED something that's strong and stops sweat, but that also smells good/covers up BO.
I also think a lot of products will end up smelling more unappealing to people because there won't be fragrances to mask the natural smells and a lot of those aren't great. I'm sure I'd miss the scent of my shampoo and conditioner and I would be sad about my favorite perfume, but my main concern is antiperspirant.
I seem to remember learning as a kid in the 80s that hairspray was bad because it was making the hole in the ozone layer bigger.
I see we haven't learned anything in over 30 years. I'm just as guilty. I buy whatever makes my life easier. I might feel bad for about 0.2 seconds, and then i swipe my credit card and go home. I can be better.

That was from chlorofluorocarbons which I very clearly remember having to learn how to say in elementary school and I believe they have been banned.
Should I put this in the bathing thread? (I joke, otherwise I'd cry.)
ETA: There's a pretty clear recommendation in there that the government regulate this, which means taking out the smells from the majority of things. Are you (general) prepared to support that?
Vindicated! I get nearly everything unscented when possible. Unfortunately it's not always an option. Some, like sunscreen, I think are inevitable because I presume it's the smell of the chemicals that make it work (unlike the coconut scented spf 4 oil). I'll just further reduce my showering
You know what other scented product is disgusting....scented tampons and pads. hork
I bought some by accident once and didn't notice until I used one. It was so awful 🤢 I used all of them though because I felt bad about just tossing them, even though they were causing some irritation in addition to the nasty smell. Now I always double check what I'm buying.
In general I think I would be OK with less scents. I'm not sure we could give up scented laundry detergent though...
Y'all remember the days of walking into a department store and immediately having around 15 people try to spray you with perfume? OMG that would give me an immediate headache even as a kid.
I would miss my scented deodorant for sure and admit I would also miss my scented shower gel but I would deal. I had no idea scents were such an issue but I'm not surprised.
I’ll admit that I don’t mind most scents, but I had never considered the environmental impact before. It’s definitely time to shift to more natural products.
I really don't understand poo-pouri. The bathrooms always smell like shit covered flowers after someone uses it at work. It makes me gag. People aren't fooling anyone.

You're right, it was CFCs. It was hair spray and air conditioners. Seeing as hairspray is still on that list, we've just substituted one bad chemical for another and continue to destroy the ozone.
I have no faith that our elected leaders are going to do anything about environmental issues in general. Putting in strict laws to save the earth would mean less profits for corporations and corporations seem to be what rule America.

I haven't attempted it at work but it probably would suck here. At home it works great! Well, workED great. RIP Poo-pouri.
I would be fine with unscented for most things, but air freshener and candles would be tough. Certainly not a dealbreaker if it makes a big difference for the environment, but I would miss them a lot.

They’re not using it right. You really have to spray it into the bowl BEFORE you go. The oils seal the surface or something so the odor can’t get out. It’s no good if you try to spray it after.
I wonder if an unscented oil would work, like even a cooking oil like canola?

Oil in wastewater systems is a huge no-no, though.

Pretty sure we just donated another hole with the off gas from all.the Ikea products in our house. Can't open windows or doors, and I might die of this headache. Yikes.
