"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
Anyone have any suggestions for jazzing up hard-boiled eggs? I make a batch for the week for breakfast and I'm still fine with just sprinkling everything-bagel seasoning on them but when I inevitably experience a day of wanting to do something else with them, I'd like to have ideas under my belt. I made some mayo concoction the other day but it came out terrible...
Love crunchy chile or crispy garlic in sesame oil. I like S & B
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
I tried to find something I loved when my dogs died, but never could settle on an item. I actually ended up getting a tattoo of their paw prints on my wrist. They are just small black tattoos, but I used the mold that was taken of each of their paws for the artist to create the right shapes. It's been 5+ years and I have no regrets, and it's been a nice way to always have them with me. It provided great comfort when the losses were still very fresh (they died about 5 weeks apart, so I got both tattoos at once after the 2nd dog died).
Cable cutters - what do you do when you want to news binge? Normally, a day like today with a hurricane coming it, I’d have on a news network or weather channel, just running as background while we go about the day.
My TV (Samsung) has NBC News Now, which I thought would be useful, but is just reruns of dateline on the weekends.

I haven’t found a great solution to this - we’re able to access CBS news on weekday mornings (idk how to be honest, my H had it going when I wake up) but it cycles through the same stories after maybe 20 minutes.
I keep up with breaking news on Twitter by following newspapers, individual reporters, and major tv news networks.

Big hugs vamoose. My Mom is having a metal etching done of each of her pets (they are about postcard sized). A local hiking trail has a memorial board where you can post a picture or engraving of your pet for a $100 donation.
I have to get a mammogram soon. Any advice? I've heard it's not terrible but I've also heard it's worse than childbirth.
I just had one 3 weeks ago. It was no big deal. I think they used to put the breast between glass plates and it was torture (I swear my mom told me that), but now they use some kind of softer material (plastic?) and while there was pressure, it didn't hurt at all.
They had changing rooms, bags for our stuff, gowns that fit, the works. It was one of the best health-related experiences I've had in a while, so much so that I emailed the CEO to express my appreciation. I was hyper-anxious about it all (my mom is a breast cancer survivor, COVID concerns, and I was way late to the mammogram party), so much so I started crying in the waiting room (OMG), and the whole staff couldn't have been nicer.

seeyalater52, glad you survived the week and happy belated birthday!
vamoose, so sorry for your loss. We just made a huge pic of our dog on canvas as our memorial. I almost got a tattoo but couldn't figure out what I wanted.
@rubytues we have an app called Locast that streams the local channels including the news for free. They ask for donations every so often but it’s definitely a good option for local news and is in most major markets so I’m thinking Nola and/or Baton Rouge would be in the list.
Vacation is off to great start. Long story short, our car broke down on the highway and I am pretty sure the engine is toast. It should be under warranty but I expect pushback. It literally hit 40,000 miles on the way up and is a 2017.
Thankfully we were within half an hour of our destination and my dad was just an hour away. My SM doesn't really drive anymore so we can also use her car.
We can't do anything about it until tomorrow so now I get to stress until then.
