I’m not thinking about the holidays yet but this post reminded me stamp prices go up Sunday (first class goes from $0.55 to $0.58) so maybe (though probably not 🤣) I’ll save myself $3 and buy them for holiday cards now.
I just ordered both regular and holiday stamps, so thank you for the reminder!

L has an allergy appointment every 2 weeks for her oral immunotherapy and we try to book them for as late in the day as possible, but sometimes she has to get dismissed early. Last year we let her teacher know why and she was fine with it. Hopefully her first grade teacher won’t mind either.
It's been only 5 days which I recognize is very very early in the process. It just stinks that he is like 95% perfect with pee, but batting .000 with poop. his only pee accidents have been when he is outside playing. He was 100% naked for the first 2 days, then I sent him to daycare in pants/shorts only, but he's been coming home in undies. No accidents there. Haven't tried the Play-Doh trick yet, I'm not sure he would comprehend it? He's 2y5m and only recently caught up verbally. He is also the type to just go while he is playing.
Honestly, I would rather have waited a bit, since I have so much going on right now (graduated 2 weeks ago, board exam tomorrow, job interview Friday, we're putting our dog down next week, and E1 has baseball and will be starting soccer soon). But I know he's ready, he's been asking for the potty for a while now.
I think I probably need to realize that not all children will train as fast as E1 did. I was hoping that since pee was so easy with E2, that poop would be too.
We started training DD at 26.5 months using Oh Crap.
She figured out pee within 3 days and is an absolute champ with that.
1.5 months later, at 28 months, she exclusively poops in her bedtime or nighttime diaper. Literally nothing I’ve tried (bribes, poop books, the play doh thing, letting her sit on the potty for 20+ minutes before nap/bed, giving her privacy, telling her “poop goes in the potty,” taking her to empty a poopy diaper into the potty) helps. It’s super frustrating.
At this point I’m hoping she just grows out of it…if she doesn’t, I may have to hold the diaper at naptime and deal with the mess (which will hopefully make her not want to do it again??)
I would rather my kid held it. He's also popped in his pants, undies, on the floor once. So messy. He doesn't seem to give a shit that poop is all over his legs.
Do you pull your kids from school for doctor's appointments?
Yes. IDK about the before times, but since covid, our pedi only does well visits in the AM, and sick visits only in the PM. It's not really feasible to achieve an AM well visit without missing any school.
Dentist visits don't have the same sick/well dividing line, but they are harder to get than ever because they do fewer per day to allow more distancing/fewer people in the office at once. Back in May or so I tried to make my 2 yo an app't for his first visit at DD's pediatric dentist. It's in like Oct/Nov, first available. So again, we don't have enough choice of time to score non-school hours appointments.

I wouldn't worry about it, she'll grow out of it. A did this exact thing. Pee trained fine but would only night or naptime poop in her pull-up. Nothing helped and we tried every bribe. I was going in at 9pm every night to change her poopy diaper while she slept. Then around 34 months she stopped napping and had to poop one day but there was no nap to poop in. Bedtime was a long way off. So she had no choice but to go on the toilet. Something must have clicked because she started pooping on the toilet regularly and there were no more night time poops.

Thanks for this, I just bought my holiday stamps! I'll be happy when I have one less thing to remember around the holidays too
Oh Lord. I hadn't thought about the holidays yet but probably should! I have no ideas for my almost 11 year old. She is SO hard to shop for.
Appointments: We pull DD from school for these or try to time them on a day off. Once she gets to junior high I will try to avoid pulling her but with junior high hours being 8:30-4:15 I don't see how.
Wearing: crop tops would be against dress code for the elementary set. DD wears her big oversized tee shirts (mostly Simply Southern) and Under Armour athletic shorts basically every day. It's her unoffical uniform. In the fall she switches to joggers.
My question: What shampoo and conditioner are your older girls using? DD's going through puberty and her hair is so dang greasy. We need something better and lighter weight.

I try to schedule doctor's appointments after school, but so does everyone else, so I pull them out early if I have to.
I would just keep trying ohgillian. She might enjoy Girl Scouts because it's more social. I am a firm believer in only paying for things your kid actually enjoys. My oldest dances, but for years, she had friends asking her to play soccer with her, and she very firmly (from the age of 3 on) said "no," and I didn't push it. I think it's not a lot of fun for all involved if the kid doesn't want to go and the parents are forcing it (though I would certainly expect them to finish the season once we were signed up).
My 10-year-old either wears athletic wear (shorts and short-sleeved tops) or loose-fitting shorts (or leggings) and a cute top. We have been shopping at Old Navy, H&M, Gap, and Target lately but not seeing a lot we like. Crop tops aren't allowed at our school, and pretty much everything is cropped (and my daughter doesn't want to wear them, even if she could). Definitely a hard age to dress...

pooh8402, E was 30 months old and still in speech for an expressive language delay at the time of the play-doh demo. She got the idea and did the hand motions for a few days after!
