Beau's son's wedding is in a few weeks and I still don't know what to wear. I think I should wear a dress, but I'm sure slacks or jeans would be fine too. Beau is wearing his "fancy Buckle jeans" and a dress shirt. The wedding reminds me of K3AM's "country chic" party a few year ago (I think that was the theme?). Beau's son and his friends are 100% redneck, but the bride is trying to make it somewhat nice. It's in the yard/field at her grandma's house. I know her theme is sunflowers. And mid-September could be really nice in the PNW or rain.
Are you going to be in pictures? If so, and probably even if not, I would ask her to send a pic of what her mom is wearing and base your dress up level on that. I would wear a dress definitely even if it’s super-casual.

There are some cute sunflower dresses on Amazon that could work and be dressed up or down with shoes and accessories if you wanted to be “on theme”.
Or you could wear a shirt like this with black pants if you wanted more casual. There is a gold/mustard color pictured but I didn’t find it but think it would go well.

mommyatty, I have no clue if there will even be pictures? If there are family pictures I'll be included.
The wedding seems thrown together, even though they've been planning for months. A couple months ago during a conversation with the bride, she mentioned having a food truck come. I asked if she had contacted the food truck since caterers book a year in advance. She was nonchalant about it as if they were just going to show up.
supertrooper1, I miss those parties and am so glad I'll never have to go to one again at the same time..
I'd do a sun dress, denim jacket, and booties. Well honestly, *I* probably wouldn't do booties since I don't own any, but I assume you'll be shopping if you don't already have any...
I'm not a cowboy boot type. My friends and I grew up rural and on farms, but spent our teen years trying to avoid coming off as redneck/hick and I still dress like I'm trying to avoid the stereotype today. I bought my first pair of Georgia Romeos this past year because they're practical for me now, but I avoided them to avoid the sterotype...lol.

I showed Beau some of the suggestions here for dresses and he liked them. But then he tells me not to worry about buying anything new because (insert groom's name) is just wearing clothes he already owns. So a stained pair of jeans and a ratty t-shirt, but the bride has a nice dress? I may end up with some interesting wedding stories.
