4 stars: We Are the Brennans by Tracey Lange Great Circle by Maggie Shipstead Gild (The Plated Prisoner, #1) by Raven Kennedy Glint (The Plated Prisoner, #2) by Raven Kennedy Gleam (The Plated Prisoner, #3) by Raven Kennedy
3 stars: The Good Lie by A.R. Torre Shadows (Dark in You, #5) by Suzanne Wright A Good Day for Chardonnay (Sunshine Vicram, #2) by Darynda Jones There with You (Adair Family, #2) by Samantha Young Sweet Obsession by Callie Rose Yearbook by Seth Rogen
I would recommend the books in bold with some caveats. I had a goal of 75 books for the year and I'm at 89 which surprised me.
August went by so quickly! I read a lot in July but August not as much. I didn’t have as much luck with books and I had a few that took forever to get through for some reason. I’d didn’t dislike anything but no huge raves either. I’ve read 177 books this year. No goal.
Trejo: My Life of Crime, Redemption, and Hollywood by Danny Trejo and Donal Logue (interesting)
We Were Never Here by Andrea Bartz (I liked this)
Brat: An '80s Story by Andrew McCarthy (interesting but seemed very carefully created)
When the Reckoning Comes by LaTanya McQueen
In My Dreams I Hold a Knife by Ashley Winstead
The Herd by Andrea Bartz
The Husbands by Chandler Baker
The Perfect Family by Robyn Harding
Everything I Have is Yours by Eleanor Henderson
Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montella (interesting if you are interested words, it was not just about cults but also things like MLMs and CrossFit)
Seasonal Work by Laura Lippman
Cul-de-Sac by Joy Fielding
The Damage by Caitlin Wahrer
The Things We Keep by Sally Hepworth
The Younger Wife by Sally Hepworth (this had an interesting “twist”)

The Mermaid by Christina Henry - 4.5* The Searcher by Tana French - 3.5* In Five Years by Rebecca Serle - 3.5* The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix - 4.5* For the Wolf (Wilderwood, #1) by Hannah Whitten - 4* Red, White, and the Blues (Chronos Origins #2) by Rysa Walker - 4*
I was in the middle of a bunch of books all August and finished up a few at the end of the month.
The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans 3* Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir 3* A Single Swallow by Ling Zhang 3* The Most Fun We Ever Had by Claire Lombardo 4* This one was on audio, and it was a great format for it, to be able to join the characters when I was working, etc. I think it might have been too long as a reading book.
I’m at 35 of 65 for the year. Don’t think I’ve read is much because I haven’t been doing many audio books this year.
