If I’m understanding correctly: I would test but not quarantine at this point (but I would wear my mask anywhere in public, which I do anyway. I’d probably choose to stay home and not make needless trips but i wouldn’t “quarantine”.)
When the kids are “exposed” at school, they aren’t quarantined if they were both wearing a mask, regardless of how close they were sitting.
I test for any new symptom bc with these variants you just never know. Poor Xavier has had, like 7 tests already. All negative. the majority of the Covid cases we’re seeing at school start off with allergy/cold like symptoms.( sore throat, runny nose, slight cough)

I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Since you both have sore throats, I’d test both of you
Since your H was exposed to a known positive case he should quarantine but you don’t need to unless you or your H test positive.
If I’m reading correctly, her husband isn’t a close contact because last time he saw his coworker was Sunday. Unless coworker was symptomatic over weekend and just didn’t bother getting tested until yesterday, then that’s outside the two day cutoff. I’m not discouraging testing though. The sore throats warrant a test even if they’re likely nothing.

Yes - you’re right! For all of this stuff I need like a visual chart of the days and stuff

"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

Again PDQ
Thank you all. DH had last known exposure with this person last Sunday (5 days now), and we think they didn't have symptoms at that point. Thankfully that person is also fully vaccinated. We're waiting to hear from his boss if can test, and if they'll pay for my test, or if I have to ask my PCP. After talking to my boss I'm going to call my PCP about a test too. I just took my temp 97.9 so I'll watch that. I just took a cocktail of vitamins in hopes of staying healthy either way. My boss is asking for as many people to go in person next week as they can as it's incredibly busy with drop-in traffic, so guess that's test result dependent. Ugh I hate COVID.
*ETA apparently COVID tests are free now. My PCP only tests an hour away, and they asked if DH has been tested (Fri morning no as he just found out the other person was positive) so they're sending me the pharmacy route to try and test. Hoping to get in to test today.
Seems like most cases I'm hearing of these days present as allergies. I never get allergies, but had some symptoms this week, so I tested yesterday. Despite us both working from home and never going anywhere except the store, where we are masked.

Edit: I can't get tested until tomorrow, and no rapid tests avb. Hopefully DH can today, he's waiting to find out where his work sends him, and what kind of test. Hopefully he has the results before his next shift. Don't get me started on the process for the person who is positive for COVID. Apparently they have to re-test through work. Why are the results on their own not good enough? Fack COVID.
