Sorry if I missed a recent @ Randoms.
Saw this on Twitter and wanted to share
Chasten and I are beyond thankful for all the kind wishes since first sharing the news that we’re becoming parents. We are delighted to welcome Penelope Rose and Joseph August Buttigieg to our family.
18 months into the pandemic and we have just had the first covid test in this house. My 9 yo has had a fever and feeling lethargic since last night. Our doctor neighbour came round and did an at home antigen which was negative. But she recommended that we do a PCR so will do that tomorrow.
Had to let the 2 friends he saw on Friday know and also his swim coach as he trained on Wednesday. Hopefully it is nothing but I am being responsible.

I’m so sorry your kiddo isn’t feeling well. We are on illness 5 or 6 in 3 months in our house and it hasn’t been covid yet, but every time we test and quarantine pending results. Being sick is a whole production in this covid world.
We all have RSV. I think I’m dying. Also I had no idea adults could get RSV this badly. My immune system is inexplicably totally shot.
Ugh, sorry to hear that. My DD had it at four months old. Wishing you all a speedy recovery.
That must have been so scary with a baby that small. It’s worrisome and not good but he’s almost 1 and big and healthy and I feel lucky that we don’t have to worry about it being life threatening.
Me on the other hand. If I die no one can say I didn’t warn them. 😬🥴

I felt like that when I got strep a few years ago. I legit did not remember it being that bad as a kid but I felt like I was dying.
I went to urgent care this morning and I have pneumonia so I guess that explains it! Nothing to make you feel old than getting wiped out by every childhood illness in creation.
I know SO MANY PEOPLE who have RSV/whose kids have RSV right now. It makes me way more anxious about giving birth/having a newborn in a month than Covid does, ugh.
I’m sorry. RSV is so bad this year and it isn’t even in “season” yet. Having a baby in the midst of all this is a lot (and congratulations!)

My son and I leave this week for a long weekend baseball tournament and I am so excited to spend some one on one time with him. He is 14 and is at such a fun stage in his life. Being a single mom, I rarely have the opportunity to spend time with my kids one on one, this should be so fun!

Ugh. We’ve had 2 bouts of RSV here in the past 10 weeks with my toddler. Luckily my 10 week old only got small colds each time. I also had my first covid test because my toddler was so sick and got me sick for the first time since December 2019. Luckily negative so just a cold.
School starts here on Wednesday. My parents asked if we wanted to come for dinner this weekend. I hedged without commitment because I usually dont like planning anything for the weekend after school starts since B is usually exhausted. But also because I dont have any faith that shes not going to be quaretined by saturday.
I had forgotten that last Friday was picture day and DS wore cat ears to school. We got the proof of his pictures back, and he has them on in the pictures. I couldn't have planned this better.

DD moved up into the oldest room at her daycare center - she’ll be going to kindergarten next year - so she’s got a new teacher. Teacher sent a message on the app about what the kids did today, and kept using “alittle” and “alot” throughout the message. Argh.
ETA: also annoyed because I got an app message saying I need to send in a package of wipes (which is fine), but the message came about 20 minutes after I got home from a grocery shopping trip. Wipes were actually on sale in the end cap shelf and I looked at them and said to myself, “Nah, don’t need those for anything right now.” Bah!!!
