We had a nice weekend. Weather was pretty good for most of it, so we were outside a lot. The kids were off Friday, so DD1 had a friend over while DD2 and I went to the zoo and to lunch. Then all of the kids swam. Saturday the kids and I met friends at a local park in the morning, and then DH and I hung out at the pool while the kids did other stuff and eventually joined us. We had my parents over on Sunday. Monday DH and I went for a long walk together, and then DD1 had a friend over again. DD2's friends weren't around or were sick, so she was annoying because she was upset about no friends.
Kids are back in school today, and it's my last week before work really ramps up. I'm trying to get organized - doing some prep for lunches and dinners, catching up on laundry, cleaning, etc. I'm getting nervous - it's been over 4 years since I had a regular job. I'm going in as a consultant, but I'm going to be considered an employee - it's more beneficial for me to be paid as a contractor at this point.
I just got a message from the principal at school - DD1 has a symptomatic COVID case in her class - day 3 of school. She was not considered to be a "close contact", but I really don't know how they can determine that since the kids all change classes together and sit in different spots in each room. So I'll be keeping my eye on that...
The weekend went by so fast! I had such high hopes of a bunch of house projects that I wanted to get done. I did clean and completely rearrange the living room, which took all day on Sunday. Now we have a dedicated corner for the new Peloton bike to go in when it arrives in a couple days.
During this cleaning process it really became clear to me how terrible beau is with stupid little clutter. His method of picking up involves grabbing a plastic quart container (which we have a billion of because of the restaurant) and filling it with all the tiny odds and ends and scraps of paper around, and then abandoning said container somewhere. So the clutter is "cleaned up" but... not really. It's actually kind of funny how much this is his style. His co-owner at the restaurant says he does the same thing there in the office. I gathered up at least a half dozen of these containers of stuff from all over the house and lined them all up on his dresser to deal with. I'm just glad they're out of the main living space for now. In another couple days I'll probably go through them myself and trash a bunch of stuff.
I'm currently dealing with what I assume is seasonal allergies. Congestion, scratchy throat and eyes, and earache. I've now gotten three doses of the vaccine, so I swear, it better not be COVID. I'm thinking I should go get a few of the at home rapid tests from CVS for situations such as this.
It is a weird Tuesday/Monday! We spent most of the weekend in pools, including ours, with friends. Unfortunately DD got sunburned after I let her do her own sunscreen yesterday, so I won't be trusting her with that again anytime soon (she's a redhead, so burns easily).
I really need to get motivated to get work done today, since I feel like I need to fit five days of work into four, but I'm having trouble
mae0111, Did you go to the zoo with all the lights? I want to get us tickets to that before it goes away. It looks amazing from the pictures friends have posted!

The one that we went to also has a light display, but not the one in Boston. The one in Boston looks awesome! I really want to make a reservation now that we have all of our schedules almost set. A few of my friends did it and they said it was really neat.
The zoo we went to is really nice but it’s far. There’s just no easy way to get there. We had passes from Black Friday 2018 that we had to use.

We had a nice weekend. A nice mix of hanging out with friends and just relaxing.
Today was off to a good start until the swim team that I had registered DD up for contacted me to say that despite the fact that we were able to register her, the session that we have her in is full. Unfortunately that's the only time we can make it; so now I'm super annoyed. DD had worked so hard all summer to make the team
I've bene emailing back and forth with the club to see if there are any other solutions, but so far no luck.
We had a lazy weekend. Friday DD and I drove the 40 minutes to the coast and had a 90 minute walk before the temps dropped and the wind picked up and started blowing stinging sand. Saturday we picked peaches and had a private gymnastic lesson. Sunday we paddled with a teacher friend and Monday we washed boats and DH did some power washing. Today has just been odd. I expected to be swamped and it has been pretty quiet. DD starts school tomorrow. Today she has spent the day listening to audiobooks and coloring motivational posters.
