Goodreads Update

Anyone else dislike the new Goodreads formatting?  It's way too big and I couldn't find a review that I was having trouble posting.

Mine looks the same as always, but I use the desktop version. Is it the mobile site or app that changed or just a slow rollout?

My app is the same, but desktop is a new format.

Must be rolling it out slowly, then? Still the same for me on various devices.

It still looks the same for me too, for now anyways. I did see a preview of it though when they had a "click here to see the beta version of the new site" type thing for a while there. I really disliked it mainly because it no longer showed what the book's average rating was for just my GR friends (which the old/current version does have). The overall average for a book is always way too high in my opinion so I used my friends average instead as a way of quickly determining whether I should look into a book more. I provided that feedback under the beta preview but I won't be surprised if they still took that friend average away.

Might be time soon to look into other sites - I have heard good things about www.thestorygraph.com/ but I have yet to create an account.

I take it all back. I see it now and also dislike it. It’s huge! Why is it so huge?

ETA the home page has not changed for me, but the book pages look super weird. (Huge!)

ufcasey, there was some chatter on bookstagram this weekend where an author was talking about losing followers for rating honestly. I'm not surprised, between Goodreads Ratings and bookstagram, I sometimes wonder if I read the same book everyone is fawning over.

I see this high rating thing as a problem on Poshmark and Etsy too. 5 stars for everyone!
