In case you missed the announcement this morning, Cody Rigsby is going to be on this season of Dancing with the Stars. I don’t normally watch but I may be (at least a bit) this season.
Man, he's going to be so good. I've literally never watched it but I'll probably try to catch it a few times this season, or at least watch clips later.
I’m not a peloton person (or a DWTS one for that matter) but an article I was reading about the contestants stated that he is a former professional dancer. That seems like an unfair advance…

There are a few people on there with a lot of dance experience (Mel C and Amanda Kloots), and there usually are each season. I don't watch closely but I don't think a dancer has always been the winner. Plus ballroom is a different game - I have a dance background but ballroom and dancing with a partner would be brand new for me.
I was excited to see this! If his personality comes across as well as it does on the bike he's going to be great.

JoJo Swia is(was?) a dancer too - seems like an odd advantage.

They’ve had a lot of people with dance backgrounds on - and dance-adjacent athletes like skaters and gymnasts. In general the athletes have an advantage since they move their bodies for a living.

SO sad about the turn of events with this!! Will he just have to drop out now that he will presumably be sick for a while? I don't know if he'd be able to jump back in once he's done with quarantine if he doesn't feel sick? What a blow that he's had Covid twice in one year!

Per a GMA tweet - Apparently they’re going to zoom dance - not in the studio and not even with each other? It sounds awful!

Ugh that does sound bad. If they're both feeling up to dancing and both are positive they can't just dance together on Zoom? But I guess that technically goes against being "quarantined" since one of them would have to leave home. Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

I can't imagine, having to learn all the choreography virtually. At least he's a dancer and should be able to pick it up relatively easily.
But performing separately (together), via Zoom? Yikes.
I only hope the judges are understanding of what a crappy situation they've been in and give him another week or two to really show them what he can do.

I have to imagine that the only reason they’re (the producers of DWTS) doing this is because they’re afraid of what will happen as the season continues and more dancers get it or are exposed. If they kick off Cody and they kick off anyone else who can’t compete as normal, they won’t be able to film a whole season.
