I think my neighbor did because I saw a people hauling one out of their house. I was really tempted to ask them about it but I don’t really know them.
Well, put down those IRS letters and walk over there and tell them your internet friend wants to know what the process was like! lol jk.
@princessbubbleyum , that is still helpful to know that you came from the same mindset I'm in and loved it. I wonder if H would use it. It would be a much easier sell if he would lol.
Keep in mind the regular bike also just dropped by $400 a few weeks ago so that might help with the argument, too. :-)

Oh, I am AWARE lol And with the fact that you can buy a swivel thing on Amazon and I usually wear headphones and don't care about automatic resistance I really don't think I'd need the Bike+ anyway. Although the AppleWatch integration is tempting.

I think there's a free app called Heartcast (or something like that) that lets you cast from your watch to the bike.
Sorry, calamity. That sucks. I hope they can find something to help you treatment wise. And your H should pull his head of out his ass, too. I hope your Monday is improving.
(((calamity))) I'm sorry, that sounds overwhelming. I hope you can sort through all of the new information and work with your medical team on a treatment plan. Also sorry your H is being so immature. I don't understand adults doing the silent treatment.

I just saw there's a restaurant near me with Siam in the name. Not a single dish is Thai food.
I have heard sop so often it's lost all meaning. It's what they call all covid rules and precautions. I've never heard it used so often, and I've been in military and science communities! I was near someone recently who in the brief seconds I overheard him talking (not in a language I understand) mention sop more than 10 times.
TR, I use the peloton app and was immediately tempted to get a bike. I didn't want to spend the $$$ on Peloton and ended up with a schwinn ic4- I do not regret getting the schwinn and still use it regularly. I can't speak to returning the Peloton but getting a bike was worth it to me. I use the app through a firestick.
ALSO I ate some shredded chicken (like they take off the rotisserie chickens at the grocery store) at lunch today that was packaged on 9/7, sell by 9/10 and didn't really think anything of it, it smelled fine, wasn't slimey, tasted fine. But now I'm convinced I'm going to get food poisoning.
My writing group is a doing an (almost) daily writing challenge for the month, and it's been good at getting me back in the habit and trying to meet a word goal that I've set for myself, but I still have no real follow through, because I've basically just started and not finished a new short story every day. Whoops.
I've also had a bunch of medical appointments last week, and again this week, and I need to schedule even more, but my phone avoidance is getting the better of me. I really don't know how it happened that all my annual stuff all congregated towards the fall. It's annoying.
My phone updated today and now there's a question mark where there used to be a comma on my keyboard. I am not happy about that in the least.
I am, however, ridiculously excited about DH agreeing to spend money on work that we likely could have done ourselves...mostly because he's finally realized that he doesn't have to kill himself (or me), by having us add more hard work in the heat to what we have been doing. We are both exhausted, and are pretty burnt-out, after having spent the entire two weeks he took off (and pretty much every lunch hour, break during his work weeks, and weekends) doing something in the yard.
We *could* feasibly dig yet another trench, (so many trenches...for 14" barrier edging, irrigation, wiring for lighting, drainage, a gas line, and something else that I forgot), but the plumber needs to move or connect a new line so that we don't screw up the warranty on the work they did before. We would be paying them hourly for a service call if we dug the ditch, which likely wouldn't be enough of a savings over having them just do the whole thing like it's a new job, to make it worthwhile for us to spend all that time digging. Especially since it feels like it's 150° outside.
I really hope our pavers come soon, so that we can stop thinking of projects to do before they lay the pavers. lol

Are you starting to not feel good? I will cross all the things that you do not get sick.
Also, if you are looking for spin apps, you can look into Spinning (the company that literally created indoor cycling). This might appeal to you if you just want to ride without doing funky stuff on the bike like pushups, etc.
I am working towards trying to get back into teaching. I have all these fun rides in my head and no where to go. lol Like an entire ride to Talking Heads/David Byrne music.

Well, my stomach was a little upset a bit ago, but I also ate ice cream after lunch lol and sometimes I have digestion issues after eating ice cream during the day, it's happened before. So it got me in my head.
And I actually have been using Peloton for strength & HIIT workouts for over a year now and people talking about the rides is what's making me want to get a bike lol.

Ah, I see. Yes, I have heard great things about their instructors.
TR, since you already like the Peloton platform I think you will like the bike. I have a Schwinn IC4 I am happy with, too, but with the price drop on the actual Peloton I would just go with that. That way you get the metrics and everything.
I am honestly surprised I am not sick of the Peloton app yet. I thought it would be a quick 90 day trial back in March of 2020 and here I am...still obsessed.

Same, I signed up then too! I think it’s the longest I’ve stuck with any fitness app/program.
Thanks everyone. I have a previous fusion at T11/12 and my surgeon said at the time that my vertebrae in that area was so small and misshapen that he couldn't fuse everything he wanted, so that makes it very complicated to fuse below it now. Plus with L4/5/S1 messed up it will just put more pressure on that area in between. The Dr did recommend that I meet with the surgeon again, and that I do PT to strengthen the muscles around the spine.
It just feels so frustrating, I'm only 39 and I have the shittiest back.
I'm giving my H a pass, he's been dealing with depression and said he needed some time for himself and he went to exercise and do some things for him. I think it feels overwhelming for both of us.

Well, good luck! Physical therapy can really do wonders, my husband has had issues over the years and it has made such a huge difference.

cleo29 I haven’t had the best luck with Diptyque perfumes longevity but people rave about Philoskykos, it’s a very photorealistic fig tree scent. I really like Oyedo, which is like citrus + cotton candy, with a thyme note, but I found a Byredo perfume called Sundazed which is very similar but much better longevity. Expensive though

The Philoskykos is the one I like! The after scent reminds me a little bit of Caleche by Hermes, which I wore on my wedding day, even though I don't think they share anything similar note wise. It is very interesting.

Have you tried Do Son or Tam Dao? One cool thing about them too is that they include a sample of the perfume along with the full bottle purchase so if you don’t like it you can return it. I went a couple of weeks ago to try stuff in their store in person and the salesperson was so nice and helpful

I'm so very sorry. But hopefully a good PT can help.

Me too. I've never in my adult life exercised every week for over a year.

Never taken a spin class. Definitely bought a Peloton after the price drop lol. Delivery on the 21st.
I'm so angry. One of the universities nearby has an assistant professor position open that's perfect for me. I'm working on lining up my letters of reference. In addition to my principal and my doctoral advisor, I asked my former mentor (our district has a program for early educators). Previously, he had told me he couldn't give a letter when I wanted to go to another district since it was a competition issue.
This time, he said he'd be glad to, but then followed up and said his supervisor told him he wasn't allowed because it didn't look good for the district--it wasn't in their best interest and might look like they were encouraging teachers to leave.
I mean, seriously? We're just supposed to stay here in perpetuity? I don't know who else to ask because it's not like fellow teachers observe each other and can comment on their teaching.

calamity you are a good soul. You have been thru and continue to go thru so much and you still show grace to others. I really hope there is a path to treatment and relief for you soon as well as your DH.

Get a teacher from your grade team to write one. I had both my department chairs and a co-teacher who had worked at the college write for me when I moved from HS to CC years ago.

Ditto @princessbubbleyum , I had never touched a spin bike or really rode real bikes much, and I love my Peloton. I was also a March 2020 joiner and used the app with a treadmill and stuff we already had for a while. Definitely the longest I've ever stuck with exercise of any kind! DH was skeptical, but also likes using it now that it's in the house.
