calamity you are a good soul. You have been thru and continue to go thru so much and you still show grace to others. I really hope there is a path to treatment and relief for you soon as well as your DH.
I can't even tell you how much this means to me <3
I'm so angry. One of the universities nearby has an assistant professor position open that's perfect for me. I'm working on lining up my letters of reference. In addition to my principal and my doctoral advisor, I asked my former mentor (our district has a program for early educators). Previously, he had told me he couldn't give a letter when I wanted to go to another district since it was a competition issue.
This time, he said he'd be glad to, but then followed up and said his supervisor told him he wasn't allowed because it didn't look good for the district--it wasn't in their best interest and might look like they were encouraging teachers to leave.
I mean, seriously? We're just supposed to stay here in perpetuity? I don't know who else to ask because it's not like fellow teachers observe each other and can comment on their teaching.
Get a teacher from your grade team to write one. I had both my department chairs and a co-teacher who had worked at the college write for me when I moved from HS to CC years ago.
That was my next step, but I reached out to our union president who told me the guy was allowed to write a letter. So he was basically told a load of bull to keep him from helping teachers leave the district.

My friend, who is vaccinated (allegedly), is very upset over the vaccine mandates. Like multiple times a day bitching about it on FB. Your body your choice kind of things. She likens it to the abortion law. Telling people, if you are vaccinated, to chill TF out.
I don’t think I am the one that needs to chill out here.
