Seriously, if you had told younger me that getting new appliances would be the highlight of my year, I would have laughed at you, yet here I am. We got a new fridge about 2-3 months ago and today our new dishwasher is getting delivered. And I'll have plenty to wash in it once it's installed since my H disconnected the old one on Sunday without warning me and with a sink full of dishes that I can't even hand wash because he shut off the water. Cool LOL
What fridge did you get and do you like it? We have to buy a new one and I've reached the analysis paralysis stage of shopping for it.
I have no idea. I didn't know anything about it until I clicked the link in @princessbubbleyum 's post and that article just says the video went viral, but doesn't say how.

Adding to our ongoing saga of moving to SC, then the kids and I moving back to IL because of Covid, we had the movers bring back most of our belongings. DH is living in SC with just the bare minimum and things we bought there.
When we originally moved, we had our Peloton moved with us since we thought we would be there for 18 months. The movers just came to our IL home and….no Peloton 😩 It was the one thing on that truck we actually cared about. They don’t know where it is. Likely in a warehouse in SC. And it’s been sitting there for over a month. So we really don’t even want it now - we’d rather be reimbursed so we can buy a new one that we know will work. Ugh.

S/o jeans. I have been updating my clothes for return to office. I bought a cute pair of high waist jeans. I have short legs. These things gave me the the biggest wedgy. I couldn’t sit down it was so bad. DD told me to give up on being stylish and go for comfort. Then this ding dong wore one of my mom’s jackets to school while 92* yesterday. Neither of us will be fashion divas or influencers. I’m sticking to skinny jeans.
lol my butt and hamstrings are really sore from the lower body workout I did yesterday so I got our big yoga ball to sit on and it feels so much better. But now Donny won't come in my office because he's scared of it.
I did a free trial of Ancestry.com because I had looked at through my library account and was annoyed my mom and her mom weren’t connected to my grandfather. The library accounts are research only so I had to sign up.
I can see how people get into this! I’m already down the rabbit hole of records and came across a cute story I had been told about my great grandmother getting locked in a cemetery overnight that someone had added to her profile.
People on both sides of my family had kids late! My dad’s father was in his 50s when he was born so he was born in the 1890s! My mom’s parents were in their 40s when she was born. It reminds me of our conversation here about HS classmates becoming grandparents while others were still having kids.

How do you nicely tell people they park like idiots? 2 days in a row this car is parked crooked and taking up 1.5 spots. The first day I let it pass since we all have our moments. Today it’s just careless.
We just had our new dishwasher delivered and installed and of course it doesn't fit. It's a hair too tall because of our new flooring that we put in last year. It's fine, we'll get it in, but it's just one more step. We had the same issue with our new fridge and had to cut the cabinets 3/4". I just really need to do dishes LOL

We had an archery tournament this past Saturday. Last week a guy called me to pre-register. He told me how good he is, named off all these tournaments he's won, told me all about his expensive equipment, etc. Kind of a jerk. I'd forgotten about it until today, he took last place in his class and even I beat his score. Somehow this makes me feel better. Probably makes me a jerk too, but I'm only telling all of you.

I'm leaving for a 3 week vacation in 10 days. Our cat sitter canceled last night. I have 2 interviews set up this week but I really don't need this stress.

Our car is hardly 2 months old and is in the shop for the second time. 4 days after we picked it up I drove over a nail and had to have the tire replaced, thankfully was purchased the tire warranty because it was $500 to replace. Then last week during a heavy rain storm the sunroof started leaking. Blah. H needs the other car for work and I need this one for preschool drop of/runnings errands so hopefully it doesn't take too long to repair.
I think H and I have decided that I won't be returning to work at the end of my maternity leave (which isn't until March). It's a bit scary but H's business has really taken off and him taking any time off for sick days/appointments/drop offs/pick ups doesn't work with his schedule so it would all fall on me. H is looking to fill a part time admin role which I could fill in and still be home with DD. DS is at school full time 8:30-3:30 as well so this would help us avoid paying for before/aftercare. We still have a few months before we need to make any decisions since I don't plan on telling work till the end of my leave to keep my health benefits.
My sisters ordered some bath and body works for me to bring home to Ireland. Got on the train to the airport and it was clear from the smell that one of them had leaked. I spent 15 minutes cleaning up the mess at the airport and now I STINK of whatever this scent is. I have a headache and the guy next to me at the bar just said “oof they go strong on the air freshener here”. That bag is checked, but I’m mortified that I smell so strongly of it especially before a flight.

DD is in 9th grade this year and her first every semi-formal dance is coming up so we get to go dress shopping. I think I'm more excited than she is. I also think that we might have a tough time agreeing on something because she tends to want to dress like she's 24 and not 14 so finding a dress that is appropriate that she also loves may be difficult. Also, what is the going price for semi-formal dresses these days? Am I out of line hoping to not spend more than $100?
ETA: this is the dress that she is currently in love with, and I don't hate it. Plus, it's only a little bit more than what I actually wanted to spend, though I would want to add a modesty panel to the front depending on how it looks on. I'm just hesitant to order something like this online without trying it on. www.gownformal.com/a-line-lavender-short-homecoming-dress-with-appliques-p3014946.html
There are tons of dresses for under $100. Lulu’s is popular for high school/college formals, Revolve has some options under $100, and Bebe is another great place to look. Nordstrom even has a ton of Junior dresses online. Revolve and Nordstrom have free returns too, but Lulu’s will have the most options.
DS1 has been biking to school since the start of the year because a new elementary school opened down the street from us. This morning, I realized that his bike is WAY too small. I don't know how I didn't notice this happening, but his little knees were barely straightening out.
I took him to a bike shop after school and found a good used Trek. He went from a 14" bike to a 20" bike! (My baby!)
And, in even more fun news, DS2 can fit on the 14" (just barely) and because it only has a hand brake, he picked up riding it SO fast. This is why I bought that bike in the first place, because the coaster brake was really messing up DS1's learning. I was so proud of him and he was clearly just delighted to really get it finally.

I have short legs too and this does not happen for me! Maybe try a different brand?
I got a pair from Stitch Fix that I love (Liverpool brand in a Petite) and I also really like AE's petite jeans in the high waisted.
