Anyone have any great ideas yet? With the supply chain still being a wreck everything I am reading says to plan early. DD turns 11 in November so I usually start planning right around now anyways.
So far all I have is a few Astros related things, maybe Air Pods, and books.
ETA: A few more ideas....bigger tennis racket, Disney mini Lego Castle, softball glove
I've been keeping my eye out for an xbox series X for my 13 year old for months. A few times we have even seen the inventory alert the minute it went out, and still couldn't order before they sold out. At this point, I don't think it will happen. Without that, I have no ideas for him. I kind of blew it last christmas-- he really doesn't use 75% of what he got last year, so I'd like to do better this time. I'm stumped though.

I'm definitely shopping early. Shipping has been a nightmare since Hurricane Ida. I plan to shop early and in person. DD is 5 and will be really easy- Barbies, LOL, My Little Pony, Polly Pocket, etc. She loves everything she sees. DS1 (8) & DS2 (5) will be tougher but Switch games, Mario playsets and Legos for sure. Need a "big" Santa gift idea for both.
I already bought DD (4) a couple of Bluey toys - Target had a whole bunch of Bluey merch at the beginning of the summer, then ran out when I went back a few weeks later, so once I saw they’d restocked I got a couple figurines.
I’d also like to get her some kind of little chair or couch so she has her own place to sit in the living room. And a few books and some clothes. She has SO MANY toys, including stuff from her June birthday that she hasn’t even opened yet, so I want to take it easy this year. I’m also trying to kick some money to locally owned shops and Etsy sellers rather than big box stores where I can.
Other kids we typically buy for are cousins aged 7, 3, and 10 months; and friends’ kids aged 9, 7, and 2. Usually I do a toy, a book, and an outfit or pajamas for each. I don’t have any particular ideas though.
The 9YO is a boy whose big interest is trains. Anything I come across seems to be geared toward younger kids, so if anyone has a train-related recommendation I’d appreciate it.
I'm going to try to get my husband on board with some more experience type gifts this year. My two youngest kids both play hockey, so I'm thinking MN Wild hockey tickets for all of us for one of the gifts.
My 15yo SS is impossible to shop for and I really don't want more *stuff* for the younger kids.
glitzy07, same with AJ. Two Christmases ago we did Blue Jackets and OSU men's basketball tickets (thankfully for games that happened prior to COVID shutting down the world) and he loooved that. I'm thinking along the same lines for this year-hockey, basketball, maybe a couple OSU baseball or Crew soccer games. Or a jersey of one of his two favorite Crew players. Maybe a new Switch game? Though he'd be happy with more V-bucks to spend on Fortnite, ew.
Z would be delighted if we turned one side of the house into her own personal climbing wall...but no. Thankfully she's still too young to really "get" it and would be happy with boxes to climb in/on.
ssmjlm, what Switch games do you have/what is she into?

I'm about halfway done shopping for DD. She's 2.5 so she's easy! New puzzle, coloring books, vet/doctor set, book. I still want to get her a (used) snowboard to try it out - H and I both board and we want to try to get her into it this year. Should be interesting 🤣 I think my parents are getting her ice skates.
Our nephews (5 and 8) are getting a switch so we'll get them a game or 2 and maybe some accessories. I told H to watch out for any deals so we can snag something as soon as that happens.

13 year old DD will be getting some Birkenstock slides, a Vanity Planet facial steamer, a weighted blanket, new bathrobe, and a new purse
9 year old DD will be getting some new watchbands for her vivo fit, a National Geographic magazine subscription, the Serafina book series, and some AG accessories
6 year old DD will get AG accessories, new roller blades, Baby Yoda Squishmallow, some Paw Patrol toys she has been wanting.
I'm totally buying stuff already for my FOUR Dec/Jan bdays plus Christmas, plus helping grandparents shop! jinkies , Also on the fence about whether or not to try to find Xbox...I am not sure my son really wants it, or just wants a certain game!! I don't know if I could even find one if I tried. Your story is not giving me much hope.
I already have some books, American Girl, Lego stuff, squish mallows, and random little items. Also got a few things back on Prime Day for the little girls. Got cute, fuzzy, hooded lounger thingies from Costco for all the girls, mostly b/c I just think it would be so cute to have them all wear them for a movie night. The two little girls want Barbie stuff again, too.
Am thinking maybe a second hoverboard, since ours was a huge hit with everyone until it stopped working (and I need to fill out form and send it in to company for a replacement!).
Looked at Ezy Rollers last year and might do that this year.
My oldest turns 13 in January and we might get me a new phone and give her my old one, but I think we would wait until January for that. Somewhat strangely, she's not really ASKING for a phone, so I'm not sure.
10 YO DS is very interested in WWII and enjoyed building a model kit this summer, so maybe some model kits.
Had a karaoke mic that was a big hit until it broke so might get one of those again, too.
I'll probably get another snow sled at Costco for someone when they stock them again. They are nice and we could use more.
osulori , she beat Mario Odyssey a couple weeks ago. She also like Mario Kart and Mario Party.
We don't have Animal Crossing, maybe I should get that one? She doesn't play online currently.
Do you think she'd like Mario Golf? When we can get AJ off Fortnite, that's what he gravitates to. Also, my husband was saying something the other day about Nintendo introducing versions of the Nintendo 64 games as online content for the Switch but with some sort of a subscription format starting off with Mario Kart 64 which I loooove. I'll try to find an article...
DS1 is 10 and he knows who Santa is now so I feel a little less pressure. I was thinking about Xbox too but he doesn’t seem that interested and barely plays with the switch we have now. I know he wants a new tennis racket so I definitely will get that for him.
DS2 is 6 and will be getting a new ipad as his big gift.
DD1 is 2 so easy to shop for and excited about everything so anything we get her will be a hit.
Planet Coaster for PS5 Just Dance 2022 for Switch Karaoke Mic Tabletop Foosball Hamilton Stuff Better Quality Wireless Headphones Light for the Basketball Net
I’ve already started shopping because I’m a lunatic. DS2 (9) is super easy - he just wants Legos (he wants the coliseum set but big NO yo a $500 Lego set). I bought a few biggish sets and have them in hiding for various occasions. Also there’s a few switch games he wanted and he loves building projects so I think I’m getting him kiwi crate
DS1 is 14 and impossible. I bought him a 1 pound Reese’s peanut butter cup already lol. I’m debating a Moon Pod for him. We are also going to get him a green light debit card and load some money into it for him. Game Pass for Xbox. Beyond that I have no idea . 14 year old boys are tough!
DD1 (6) needs a larger two wheel bike so that will be her big gift. She also just got an American Girl doll for her bday earlier this month and the order I got today was some accessories for the doll. I got the Joss surfboard, doll goggles, the Joss sweatshirt so she can match her doll and a Joss outfit.
DD2 (4) asked for baby doll stuff but we already have SO much. I did get her a bitty baby backpack diaper bag but I really don't think we need anymore baby stuff. I have a melissa and doug ice cream set on her list. I need more ideas for her. Maybe some Bluey toys?
They both need bigger scooters, upgrading from the micro mini to the micro maxi so I might ask grandparents to do that one cause its too much for me to get DD1 a bike AND a scooter.
We are also leaving on xmas day to fly to visit my inlaws to I want to find something that they can easily bring on a plane.
My boys will be 9 and 6 for Xmas - they both have a bday between now and Xmas so it always feels like gift overload this time of year.
I’m going to order a nugget for their playroom which will also hopefully be used as seating when they play switch. Probably a switch game for each of them. I ordered Minecraft bedsheets for them. And $$$ remote control trucks that babysideburns advertised lol.
Other than that just some smaller things I think. Maybe a Lego set? They have tons and haven’t touched them since we moved in June.
Ds1 is getting a new 2 wheeled scooter, Minecraft books, and a basketball for his bday.
C is into American Girl lately and of course the doll with her name is retired. I got the doll and the book set off eBay. I would love to get some accessories but they are crazy expensive.
She needs a bigger bike too. Then I’m thinking some Bluey toys and some Barbie stuff
