My kids are all in the older more difficult stages so I basically have very few ideas.
15 year old DD - all she wants probably is cash and clothes maybe. She’s really hard to buy anything for. Maybe tall riding boots and a helmet cover for horseback riding?
12 year old DD - she’s into fencing. Maybe I will buy her some gear for that if she’s still into it?
9 year old DS who has his 10th birthday the month before- all he wants is money to buy skins in fortnite. Sigh. He’s also into fencing so maybe he can get fencing gear. He wants waders for fly fishing so maybe those. I think he might also enjoy whittling so I might consider getting him a whittling set.
We never travel for Christmas. Except this year I got a hair up my butt and we will be in Maui for Christmas so I guess we will have to celebrate either before or after. Since they don’t believe in Santa I can do it whenever I want without having to worry about bringing all their presents with us.

Well, I’m nearly done shopping for the kids and I don’t have many grown up presents to buy. I usually start early, but this year I wanted to be DONE early. I still need to buy a big lego set for DS1 and some books for both. Then, I saw the 40% off video games and may have bought 5 new Switch games (last year’s big present was the console.) I may not give them all for Xmas, but it was seriously the most amazing sale. I’m doing waaaay less “stuff” this year than usual. Their “big” presents will be a lego set each a d then that “year of monthly dates” but for kids. I saw someone on Pinterest do it as an adventure box, which I thought was really cute. I’m really hoping that we can do some fun inside stuff that we haven’t done in the last two years. We are going to be with older relatives for Xmas so I’m doing fun throw-back kinds of toys for their stockings — wooden yo-yo’s, spinning tops, Jacks, and a slinky.
What age do kids outgrow nuggets? My girls are 3 and almost 5. We need a big gift for them.
So it is my 10 year olds favorite thing ever. Same with the 3 year old. We have one but the 10 year old is asking for another so they can build more. Her best friend is getting one as well. So definitely 10

My son will be 6 right after Christmas. So far I’ve gotten the Lego creator castle and I’m planning on a switch. Likely Harry Potter legos as well. Hoping he will be vaccinated and we can do a short trip over Presidents’ Day for a gift as well.
DD will be almost 10 at Christmas. I am also finding it a really hard age! She sometimes plays with her AG girl stuff but not as much. She had a huuuuuge LEGO Christmas last year and still plays with them, but I don't want to add in more. Ugh.
So far I have: Instax camera and a ton of film Play makeup (blush, eyeshadow and tinted chapstick) for at home dress up Face sheet masks
I am thinking I'll re-up her KiwiCo subscription because she keeps asking. She's also asked for more Polly Pockets.

This is helpful. My DD loves to build forts and I was looking into a nugget or knock off.

Thank you for posting this. I hadn't seen this. I'm lucky that all of my out of state nieces and nephews are all young adults that want cash and I can venmo them Christmas morning lol. I usually ship something to my MIL across the country but I might have my local to her SIL buy something there and I'll venmo her. Ugh this year will definitely take extra planning.
Dd1 (6) - Legos, Legos, Legos. Calico critters car and new family, barbies, science kits, wellie wisher doll, maybe a switch game, books
Dd (2) - Legos, barbies, play food, books, frozen costume
I need more for DD2, but we already own all the toddler toys. I might look in the basement and see if we have anything that looks new that I can wrap up that DD1 wouldn’t recognize.
3yr old Stocking is always craft consumables. So markers, stickers, chalk, paint, glue sticks, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, etc. I don't do a ton of presents. So far I have a chutes and ladders game, little people set, prob get some more magnatiles. Maybe one more thing. Is three to young for Legos? My kid has magnatiles, wood blocks, waffle blocks, and megablocks from when she was young. Idk if I should do duplos or the basic Lego set that is just colors.
I'll also have a 2mo old, and feel like I should get them something just because I feel like my 3yr old will ask why they didnt get anything if I don't. So maybe a board book? I would wrap up some toys we already own but my child has an annoyingly good memory and would call me out on it 😂

My kids LOVE Duplos. DD1 is 6 and still plays with them. We have a couple sets and the Frozen Duplo castle and they get a lot of use. I also recommend buying a large Duplo plate. They love building houses on it. They do a lot more creative play since I bought the plates. DD2 has loved just putting blocks on it and snapping them off since she was about 18 months.
DD1 has a few of the small size Lego sets and I hate them. She doesn't really play with them once she built the sets and the pieces get lost everywhere. I don't get the Lego love. We don't have a lot of space to store them built, maybe that's why.
noodleoo thank you! We also have very limited storage, so that's good to keep in mind. I also was thinking and should prob stay away from super small stuff with a new baby coming who will be in the mouthing phase soon enough. So duplos it is!

Yea I would definitely recommend Duplos, especially if the child has younger siblings. We got DD1 a small lego set for her stocking last year and the pieces are so tiny. They (3 and 4.5) play with the Duplos all the time - plus there are a bunch of fun kits - we have the submarine and the airplane so that adds a lot to creative play.
DS1 is only 6, and I am already kind of bummed by how much smaller/less exciting gifts are now. Like three wrapped switch games are so much less impressive looking than a toddler trampoline under the tree. I think I’m going to wrap each one in a giant box for fun.
DD will be about 2.75 at Christmas. Should I get her a Little People advent calendar? We currently have no Little People stuff, and I've only heard about it from here. Debating between this or the Melissa and Doug countdown to Christmas tree.

Both my kids need new bikes (one needs a road bike for racing and the other needs a hybrid but in a size many brands don’t come in), but I’m really picky on bikes so I’m not sure I’m going to be able to find what I want since everything is sold out and no bike store knows when they are getting stuff.
I’m sure they’ll get a bunch of American Girl stuff too but other then that I’m stumped as well.
pandorica my 3yr old loves little people and has for the past yearish? Her favorite is to build little rooms and stuff for them with magnatiles and box them all in, and they're the perfect size for that. So I'd say yes! I haven't seen the Melissa Doug tree though.
ETA I just went to look for it to buy myself, and I'm only seeing it marked up for $60-80 on ebay and random sites, which I would not pay that much. Little People arent that big of a hit lol. I would pay that $30something price in the link.

Yes I definitely don't want to spend $60, the $37 or whatever I saw at BBB was the only reason I was even considering it!
any suggestions for my 7 yo DS? He is mad about soccer and pretty much any sport and not much else! He already has goals, cones, balls, nets......
My 8 yo DS is super into sports. This is baseball but he got it for his birthday and loves it. Soccer jerseys of favorite players? Room decor? Disc golf set?
