My job as a counsellor is so weird at the beginning of the school year. Because I only work officially during term time (I do some counselling in the summer as a contractor), I end up starting the term without any ongoing clients. So the first few weeks consist of me building up my client list, which means I may only have one client in a day when I'd normally have 4 or 5. I've done all the admin I can and I'm currently playing on my phone until my supervision today. Luckily tomorrow, I have a full schedule and by the end of next week, I should actually have a waiting list of clients. I hate being bored and love doing therapy sessions, so that will make me happy.
I’m looking for a very specific brand of sauce for a recipe. I could order it through the brand’s website but I’ll obviously have to pay a lot more so I’d rather try to find it locally first. My local Whole Foods had it on the shelves many months ago but hasn’t restocked it since, even though the sauce company website says that that specific WF has it. It also says several other local stores carry it, so obviously it may not be in stock everywhere that the brand website says it is.
I posted on a town FB group that I am looking for that SPECIFIC brand of sauce; that the brand website isn’t reliable as to what stores CURRENTLY have it in stock; that I DO NOT want to hunt all over the place on the off chance a store MIGHT have it in stock; and what I asked the group was “have you seen this sauce at a specific store RECENTLY.”
Every single response: -Try this store, I haven’t seen it there but it’s worth a shot -I love Other Brand -Here’s the link to the brand website which tells you where to find it
FUCKING DAMN IT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO COMMENT JUST TO HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, FUCKING READ THE ACTUAL REQUEST.

We've been without a dryer since Monday and finally got it fixed this morning. Our laundry has been piling up and it's insane.
So what does my husband decide to do this morning while I'm at an appointment? Wash the bathroom rugs. Not the laundry in the pre-existing pile. Rugs. That were washed like 2 weeks ago.

Are there other Whole Foods nearby? You could search under "pick up" and see if it's in stock. (there are five Whole Foods reasonably close to me so I use that trick when I need something specific).

There are, yes - I’ve searched but don’t see it.
That's frustrating. Or maybe good because they are keeping things evenly stocked? Around here there are often disparate offerings between them.
mbcdefg, I've noticed inventory issues with WF lately - like even basic things were not available when I searched on the app. I wonder if there is a disconnect or they changed something along the way to drive people to actually go into the stores?

Erg.
This is something mine would do. Except he'd do the "whites" which always consist of 90% his stuff because he's allergic to color.

I tried to donate blood again today, and got denied because I had a fever of 100.1. I did not feel feverish - I have a headache and I'm tired, but that's basically every day. I stopped for a covid test on my way home.
So the pay raise my boss told me was just waiting on HR to do their thing? Yeah, boss told me today that HR has put a temporary freeze on pay, pending some rework they're doing on how pay is calculated. Could be a month or two before it can be revisited.
I have to assume that no one in his management chain that had to approve the pay raise last week (before he sent it to HR) knew that HR was putting a freeze in place. Which says something about the shitty, shitty communication issues my company seems to be having these days...
It was my birthday on Wednesday so I am going out for dinner and drinks with friends this evening. WE are trying a restuarant that has just moved to a lovely rooftop terrace place so that should be fun. I bought myself something new to wear as it has been so long since I've dressed up and I even got my hair cut yesterday!

I forgot we are birthday twins - hope you had a great day! Enjoy your night out.

I found an online guided meditation thing. Meditation is something I want to get better at. And this seemed like a good idea. Then, I joined the zoom at 9:30, and when it asked how I wanted audio, I chickened out and clicked “leave meeting” instead. WTH, Ruby. How can you introvert out of a zoom event?! And then, 15 minutes later, I really regretted it. But, not the type of thing to come in late for.
Yesterday I did the dishes, cleaned the kitchen, washed cat bowls and food mats, folded my laundry, changed the sheets, and did a thorough sweep of the downstairs (read, swept everything twice). H vacuumed and mopped. I went to bed feeling good about how clean things are. Then my stupid brain decided it wanted to dream about the bathroom being swarmed with hammerhead worms.
It'd be nice if my stupid brain could just let me feel good for a little while.
Also, I made one comment. One. About my back and sciatica acting up while I was sweeping. H said I need to start doing sit-ups. I know he will try to offer solutions to "fix" things which is why I really never complain about how I'm feeling. But it was hard not to start an argument yesterday about how it's more likely our 20+ year old mattress that's causing the problem.
I mean, yes. Sit-ups and planks will help. I know I need to exercise. I'd love to get back into yoga. But my subconscious has decided our shower is infested with hammerhead worms, so I feel it's more important to thoroughly clean the bathrooms 🤷♀️
