Here is my thread on my missing ring. Turns out it might be worth closer to $2K. For reasons I'm not going to get into, I have to have this replaced by Thanksgiving.
It has not turned up. I'm pretty upset and very disappointed in myself. This is the last pic I have of the ring. I understand it is not everyone's taste but it has sentimental value to me.
It is by David Yurman and I don't think the ring is made anymore. In a very ideal world, I would find it used. I'm sure this ring is sitting in some jewelry drawers not being worn; where do people go to sell jewelry like this? I need a size 6-6.5. This is the closest I can find still being sold. I believe my stone (Amethyst) was more purple and this has a black back that makes the stone look darker.

I"m really sorry! I actually do think it's pretty. But at that price (which is around where my engagement ring is), I would have difficulty replacing it
The one on ebay, I think you could ask for more pictures, perhaps looking for a stamp inside that should correspond do the designer. That should validate if it's real and that price point is a lot more affordable. If you find your existing one, you could turn around and sell on ebay, perhaps for a similar price as to what you're paying now
eBay would be my suggestion. They have “eBay Authenticate” that verifies the authenticity so I’d look for listings that include that if you are worried.
That said, I wouldn’t be surprised if that listing is real, it’s a mass produced piece so there should be a fair amount on the second hand market. They’d probably get more from someone like you looking for a specific ring than they would selling it for scrap. The price of gold is up but I don’t know if they’d get more than maybe $400 for the gold and the stones. Unless it’s a very rare, antique or unusual piece it’s a lot like selling a used car—the resale value is often a fraction of the original cost.
Since it is mass produced, it should have some clear markings on it that would either be in the listing or available from the seller.
Since they still make the ring, maybe Yurman would re-do it in straight up amethyst as a special order.
I have a peridot ring and when I asked recently about getting a necklace that was also peridot, the jeweler said it was doable. They don't typically do peridot anymore because it's become more expensive since I got mine.
I reread your post from when you lost it and I want to help scour your home for you.
One time my H dropped his ring in the couch. He picked up one side of the couch while I looked underneath but we couldn’t find it. Instead of falling through it was in the couch on a wooden ledge. Please go give your furniture a proper shake down for me.

Same!! @@ My mom recently lost the ring we got her for Hannukah last year. She looked everywhere, but wasn’t even sure when it went missing so where to even look. About a week and a half ago I was getting DD ready for nap, and picked up her sleep sack and lovey. I heard something fall to the floor as I picked it up, and when I looked down I thought my earring had somehow fallen out. It was the ring! Both her sleep sack and lovey (and sheet) have been washed more than once since my mom lost the ring, so I have no idea what could’ve happened.

I had a purse stolen once that was several years old that I absolutely loved. It was a Tory Burch purse and my husband emailed them and they were able to track down a replacement.
For the purposes of this quick replacement does it have to be ‘real’. If not, I would just get whatever works, quick and easy.
Sorry this such a hassle. I quietly tore the house up looking for a ring with a Tahitian pearl that my husband got me on vacation, it was less then 3 months old when I lost it . I found it at work next to the soap dish!
Thanks for all the great ideas. I went to the jeweler where it was purchased 10 years ago this past weekend. Unfortunately they no longer carry DY. He gave me the model number but it's not pulling up. RO6793D55 (or maybe it's a 0?) AMDI7 (I think the 7 is a size 7, it was a little loose.) The ring was $1650 10 years ago so I'm thinking it's the 17mm. I am going to go back and ask.
It's super frustrating. I'm not one to lose things and this is actually pretty big and chunky. It should show up if it's at my house.
In looking at all the pics of rings for sale, I was having a hard time remembering what it looked like underneath the stone until I clicked on gottadobe, RealReal link. I'm 99% sure you could see the underneath of the stone so that one might be legit.
Alps79, I would contact DY directly if you can. I am sure if they can help, they will. I've heard great stories of higher end jewelry companies like theirs that help folks out years after the fact.

This is what I was going to recommend. Maybe they can help!
I am not sure if I missed it but did you ever ask your cleaning person about the ring? I know it's never great to assume that it was stolen, but if it's been this long and hasn't turned up then I don't think it's unreasonable to ask about it.

I've bought from Real Real and am happy with my purchases - and they were legit! Good luck! I really like DY and love that ring, I hope you find it. I found many things I wouldn't mind having on that site as I was looking... ha

True.
One of my friends had had a broken engagement years ago. When she became engaged to her current husband, he wanted to buy her an engagement ring she liked. She works with her hands and wanted something vintage looking, close fitting and without a lot of nooks and crannies to collect gunk- so basically the perfect ring the imperfect former boyfriend gave her.
Her current husband called the original jewelers who had since discontinued the ring and said he wanted to replace it. The jewelers not only agreed to create a "one off", they made the assumption it had been lost and offered a small "replacement discount".
I agree with seeing if you can get it custom made.
That said, think about whether you really need a perfect match. I am not asking you to reveal the reason this is so important, but if this is to satisfy someone else, do you really think they are going to examine it that closely? Just something to consider.
There are tons of legitimate luxury resellers/consignment on IG. I see David Yurman albion rings often, maybe search for it there?
Can you share a couple favorites?
Sure! Specifically jewelry or resellers on general? I follow more purse reseller accounts but those stores often have DY or Tiffany jewelry too. I can share my favorite vintage estate jewelers too.

Resellers in general. Oh, yes PLEASE vintage - love vintage!
I would order this one and get it sized down locally. DY might be able to do it, but I doubt they can size it before Thanksgiving. Just a hunch, as everything in the world is delayed at the moment.

Eagles might have some insight to jewelry timelines right now
I went to order the one from the RealReal bc I think it *is* real and it sold. It was also 20% off, so would have been a good price. I think the one from Poshmark is also authentic. Gah, I'm so frustrated. cuadrado I did not. I just don't think it would go over well, and it's been almost a year. Thanks for all the input and ideas!

You are good! it's the 14mm ring so that is the same one. The first one (that sold) was listed as very good condition and this is listed as "good" condition. It appears pretty scratched I set up an alert for this ring... how did I miss this new listing? I'm hoping for one in very good condition as mine was pristine :/ Thank you!!!!!!!
