Went to costco for the first time in a while. I knew that they were low on toilet paper and paper towels, but there was none. Not even a place for them to be/no signs, just an obscene amount of bottled water where they should be.
I literally never drink Gatorade but apparently I am supposed to drink it before my surgery next week. I guess I need to start shopping now? I had no idea this might be an issue. I think the last time I had Gatorade was like 2007.
ETA: Thanks to this thread, I noticed that the vending machine at work has Gatorade! So I bought 3. I hope the blue one doesn't taste horrible.
If you have trouble, or just hate Gatorade, there are electrolyte dissolving tabs, like Nuun and Liquid IV. Nuun has a caffeinated version. I prefer them to Gatorade when I need extra hydration, mostly for lower sugar, but also the not as shocking of an artificial flavor mind fuck.

and, Nuun at least is in stock at Amazon.
Thanks! I do have a feeling I'm going to have to choke it down, I don't normally drink juice or much soda or anything sugary (not because I'm a health nut, I just don't like it). I'll check out Nuun!
I don't know if I'm just lucky or we don't buy the things that most people look for, but so far we haven't had trouble getting anything. I don't think it's just luck because people in local facebook groups are talking about "bare shelves". I went to get toilet paper this morning before work, because everyone is convincing me IT'S GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN and we were down to our last roll when everything shut down so I'm not going to let that happen again! I thought they had stopped making Marcal toilet paper. It's the only one we liked and I haven't seen it anywhere since before the initial shut down. There was no big empty space where it used to be either. But this morning - there it was!
I did see bare spots where some kind of Kraft Mac n Cheese should have been. The regular boxes were there but maybe it was individual servings that were all gone? I was looking for Annie's that was on sale and I was able to get it. I usually shop in Aldi, but I am definitely going to our local big supermarket for sale items every week now because prices are getting so high we can't afford to miss a sale anymore.

Maybe a cable for our minivan's door. They are backordered. They are going to try to get it from another dealer, but if not, no idea when it might be in. We have an appointment next Saturday to get it fixed, if the part comes.
I haven't read this whole thread, but I've just found out that CPAP machines and supplies are in short supply right now.
Of course the pandemic increased the need for things like that, but I have a CPAP machine that was recalled by the manufacturer, and they have a note on their FAQ page that replacing all the machines is going to take a while because of supply chain issues.
I'm not supposed to use it at this point, but I'm sleeping so poorly I'm starting to feel desperate. I woke up three times last night from dreams where I could not breathe. Just could not make my lungs inflate. And it's left me feeling extremely anxious and panicky. So my reasoning is I'm already waking up with headaches because my breathing stops in sleep. Would it be better to wake up with headaches (but less panic) from chemicals leaching out of my CPAP?
I'm now worried about a glass shower door. We are renovating the primary BA at our beach house and maybe I need to order it now, for 6 months from now when H is ready for it (OMG--that's terrifying to type out--that he might not be done for 6 more months).
Also, PS5. H and E have wanted one for a year now. I might suck it up and just buy it from a reseller, although I know that's terrible.

Home renovation is 6-8 months out on a lot of things. This is on the vendor side. I don’t know what turn around for the end customer is at this time. You need to get it ordered sooner than later. Ask for lead times at the very least and understand when you do order it can change

I love Nuun. Unless you need Gatorade for the sugar/carbs, Nuun is so much better. The electrolytes are higher, no sugar, and super low calorie.
My husband sent me to the store today (here in Pennsylvania, you have to purchase liquor in a special Commonwealth of Pennsylvania run store that we colloquially call a "state store") to purchase a bottle of Grey Goose Vodka that he needs for a cooking recipe. There were only two bottles of Grey Goose Vodka in the entire store.

We can’t run out of Diet Coke. Our CDC director runs on the stuff and it’s essential he keeps going!
I’ve had the back order issues with LL Bean. I had one thing reach some sort of legal cancellation stage after multiple push backs. They said, respond or it’s automatically canceled on X date. I canceled a camp chair I bought in early spring when it wasn’t here mid summer and just bought the $7 Walmart one.
I’m waiting on 2 things now that were both stated as being on back order. One date has been pushed.
Everything I have ordered that is in stock has come no problem.
I have an Eddie Bauer order that is messed up, somehow. It was coming in two parts. one part arrived, still waiting on the other. Except, the website shows the package that was delivered as not shipped and the one that is not here as delivered. In fact, I’ve already returned the item that ‘hasn’t shipped’ to the store because it was too big. I have to contact them.
Honestly, I’ve had good ideas for Christmas this year so that it was easy to get started now. Except, I’ve ordered so much all at once that I can’t remember what is not here!

wow. I have never seen GG specifically noted in a recipe.
I also live in PA and they instituted a two bottle limit on some alcohol in early/mid Sept bc of glass/supply issues. It was some specifically random stuff but I was glad I saw it bc one was something DH was using for a company gift.
I guess I should start looking for GG. I normally just go buy a case when we are low. Thankfully the online stock is normally pretty accurate.

I think you can also make Gatorade from a mix. I wonder if that's impacted.
I've never until this thread realized how passionate people are about pickles. If pickles were the last food available on earth, I'd be dead rather than eat them.
We always take Gatorade to CO and I had a lot of trouble finding a container of it the last few times. In July I could get a little tub on Amazon but for our trip last week all I could get was a variety box of individual packets.
The price of bacon by me has more than doubled in the past few weeks.
I was going to buy some the other day and was shocked at how much it is. I never really pay attention to prices too much, but it was high enough that I noticed it.
A small thing of pumpkin pie spice from McCormick was $5. Is that normal? I felt like that was super high too but again never pay attention to prices.

Yes. I think I remember reading that pork would be in short supply so I guess that is why but yikes. $10 for a big pack of bacon now at our local store.
Broccoli has also been weirdly in short supply- no packaged options at all for a few weeks, and this past weekend the few bulk crowns available were not particularly fresh.
Adding to the list- milk and juice for my school. The trucks have been late or empty and this is the second day our students haven’t had a milk or juice option when they buy breakfast/lunch.
I guess this isn't supply chain but our flights were canceled for Christmas. We bought assuming the 8yo will be vaccinated and we could visit (fully vaccinated) family who have not seen her in two years. I guess we'll drive.
Definitely canned cat food. I think this is the only thing I have had issues getting. I like to buy the big boxes of it, but have had to buy single cans as that is the only thing available. It is more expensive buying single cans, but not much I can do!

My 17 year old cat is obsessed with wet food and is eating it twice a day. She’s loosing weight, so I am happy to provide it. I bought the LAST case of the pate variety she like at Costco. I hope they stock more. The chances that my cat murders me because we run out of wet food is really, really low … but not zero.

I’ve been able to find wet food on Amazon, Chewy, and Petco app. It’s about 25% more expensive than usual, but I can usually find the urinary formula my kitties need in a flavor they’ll eat. And they autoship.
