If the baby can be fully vaccinated we will try to do some travel within the US so he can meet his great grandmother before she passes (not sure if she will hold on that long) and the one aunt he hasn’t gotten to meet yet. Timing TBD.
We may also attempt an air bnb distanced trip to Maine again this summer, but we are holding off on deciding whether to cancel until closer to the date so we can see what things look like with covid at that point.
We go to Acadia/Bar Harbor every summer and in 2020 our camp ground decided not to open and we were scrambling to find something that wasn’t a hotel. We wound up staying in a waterfront cabin at the KOA and it was awesome. It wasn’t anything fancy, but we had a little kitchen, a real bathroom, and when the kids were sleeping we could go outside and sit by the fire pit/hang out while still being away from people. Could be a good option if your little one isn’t fully vaxxed yet (although dear god I hope everyone can be by then).
We are doing Disney at the end of March for a week.
In August my bff is getting married in Hawaii on Oahu where she lives. Our whole friend group is going out. We're making a whole trip of it and we're going to hit another island for 5-6 days before traveling to Oahu, then staying there for another 5-6 days. I'm hoping we can stop in San Diego for 3-4 days on the way there, too, so I can see my family.
We're going to TN in a couple weeks - MIL and SIL and her H are meeting us there. We have an AirB&B booked that looks really nice.
We just booked Myrtle Beach in Oct and my sister & her kids will join us. We'll stay at our timeshare which has full kitchen and spend most of our time sitting on the beach. Really looking forward to this.
Otherwise we'll camp this summer - we try to go at least once a month from April or May through October. I suppose that counts as travel but I don't usually think of it that way.
We are still in Italy, head home soon, been here a few weeks. Our Xmas, NYE, my Bday trip.
March we will hop around the BVI.
In July my DH is planning something. Likely Caribbean as we have decided to just say no to hot summer in concrete jungles of Europe. I can see him choosing somewhere in the Out Islands of the Bahamas as I’ve been talking it up.
If I see a deal for Portugal (Scott’s Cheap Flights), I would like to book for September (DH Bday).
And we have Bequia and Union Island booked for Xmas. NYE, my next bday. We were supposed to be there this year, just rolled the booking. I am 100% pro leave for the winter holidays, keeps us out of family crap.
After this year, I would like to start exploring places where our dollar goes a little farther. I would like to see the islands of Belize and Panama (lots of little gems!).
Some of y’all have way more vacation time and way less obligations to visit faraway family than me and I’m jealous. 1-2 weeks of my vacation time is taken up each year bit by bit by little family obligations here and there. Not bitter at all, why do you ask? Lol
2020 was our next Disney trip. So we really need to fit that one in. But Disney still sounds a bit miserable so IDK. Also still really hard to schedule.
Otherwise I am spinning with ideas. No clue what we will do with other trips. Ocean? Mountains?

Yes, and disposable income! I’m always in awe reading the travel plans on here. Between finances and PTO we can usually swing one week-10 day trip a year, and it’s usually to visit one of my siblings, who luckily live in fun places to visit.
We'll spend a week-ish in NC at my parents to visit with my nephew while he's in town from WI. That'll be a working from there house "trip" though, as I know teen nephew will sleep in late in the mornings.
Memorial weekend we're driving from VA to BFE Iowa for H's family reunion. In the most Iowa fashion ever... it's camping in a field at someone's farm (but there are full bathhouses and a nice big barn with electricity!). He hasn't seen his extended family in YEARS and we really should do better with that.
Somewhere in the summer I'd like to go visit my sister in WI. I haven't been up there in 4 years or so, and we used to go yearly.
I'd like to get to San Diego to see my BFF, but it'll just depend on if we can line up schedules and such.
I'm sure there are other local/weekend trips that will come up, but those are my "must do's" for 2022.

I have plenty of vacation time, but still lots of family obligations which dominates travel. Having school-aged kids is such a buzzkill though. I love to travel off-season but I don’t think I’ll be able to again until my kids are out of the house (15 years…but who’s counting?).

Also, since I moved back to the US I cannot believe how $$$$$ domestic travel is!!! Maybe this is partially pandemic related, but I continue to be surprised whenever I think about booking anything.

I can’t believe how much people spend on gulf coast beach condo rentals. It’s outrageous.
mambo123 I went to Panama for my honeymoon and I was great. I loved the mixture of history with the old city and the canal, mountains, rainforest. A friend is currently living there and I want to go with my boys before she leaves.
The major hope for this year is 6 weeks in the UK this summer. We were supposed to go in 2020 and I really need to see my brother and his family and my gran. I want to do a few days in Ireland, a week in Scotland and a quick trip to France as part of it.
Otherwise, I am sure we will do some local weekends.
And if the vaccine for 5-11 doesn't make it here before too long, we may have to go to Florida to get my biys vaccinated.
I get to fly to Phoenix for 2 night for a CE course this month.
We still have driving down to Orlando over spring break in the books.
We are also supposed to drive to Chicago this summer for a week to visit some friends and relatives while I take a 2 day course. If we can’t all go together, I’ll just fly to the course.
Finally I’m hoping to do something for Jersey week this year in November but that seems like an eternity away right now.
My husband wants to drive to Quebec City but 75% of us don’t have passports.
We are currently planning trips for summer and Christmas. We are thinking possibly Exuma this summer plus a trip to New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast. We are toying with the idea of Hawaii for next Christmas.

We will do 2 weeks at our family vacation home this summer just the 5 of us.
We are just now starting to plan our summer trip. Ideas so far are all over the board: Turks and Caicos, Hawaii, Alaska.
There will be a few long weekend trips scattered through the year. Chicago, Nashville, etc.
Debating spring break and fall break trips. 2 of 3 kids are begging to just stay home for those school breaks and we may just do that. We all need some good downtime.
We have a medically fragile pet so although COVID has been the main reason we haven't traveled, we really can't all go anywhere right now. I'm hoping to take a girl's trip to Chicago with BFF in April and I would love to start planning an island vacation literally anywhere. My mom made the point yesterday that pilots and airstaff are just as affected by COVID labor shortages as anyone else and all things considered, did I really want to fly right now and I see her point.
I miss living in a location where cool road trip and direct international travel is an option. Just getting out of the middle of the fucking Midwest takes a plane flight or hours and hours of driving and I'm not interested in a six hour road trip that ends me up in Kansas or Arkansas.

We live in a dry landlocked state, I love Disney, my husband loves record stores, and we both love the beach, so before covid we almost always went to CA for trips. We haven't traveled (other than a local airbnb in the mountains) since the pandemic. We also worry about leaving our dog, but I think I found a great sitter so hopefully that goes well so we feel comfortable traveling a bit more. And a lot depends on covid.
We have a CA trip planned for March (it's a treat yoself sort of trip, so we booked a beachfront room in Laguna Beach and Grand Californian at Disneyland). I have a girls trip to Disney World and Universal planned for October. If things are good in late May/early June, I want to go somewhere then too, but we haven't planned that yet. Maybe a road trip with the dog to Utah or Arizona. But we've talked about going to Seattle too. Neither of us have been there since the 90s! And my mom and I have talked about a weekend in Palm Springs, but that much time with her might actually drive me crazy so we'll see.
We are going to Disney in two weeks. Yes we are insane. We have had this booked a long time and don't know if/when we could reschedule, so we are hoping for the best.
Planning Costa Rica for spring break in March (if covid allows), then we will spend a month in the UK/Europe this Summer visiting my ILs. We just did Uk this past summer due to covid/restrictions but hopefully we can add something else, thinking France or Switzerland or Greece.
But also fully aware any of this could change in a second.
I’m really sad we have to wait 6 months to go to Estes Park again
March - driving to FL to see my uncle that is my only remaining parent - we haven’t seen him in 3 years and he hasn’t met DS3 April - flying to Ohio for my baby cousins wedding April - flying to Raleigh for DHs BFFs wedding June - driving to Estes Park December - driving to Estes Park
Traveling during all of this doesn’t sound fun to me at all but my husband’s cousin is getting married in July in Los Angeles so maybe that? I’m not holding my breath.
My annual professional conference is supposed to be in Pittsburgh this year which is on the outer edge of what I consider drivable so possibly that. I skipped 2021’s because it would have involved renting a car, hotel and air fare on top of the conference fees but this would be so much cheaper and easier. Plus maybe my husband would come too. Neither of us have been there before.
I love travel but I have yet to hear of a vacation anyone took during Covid that really seemed fun and relaxing. I do not want to spend money just to cook for myself or get take out and avoid crowds in a second location. Luckily we live close enough to family we don’t have to do major travel to see them. Hopefully we can do leisure travel again some day before I’m too old and feeble.

We leave in 11 days for Disney World and are also just hoping for the best at this point.
