We are considering it, but I know a lot of activities are limited or not available. Just wondering if its worth going or if we should wait until after the spring thaw.

No not in April. But yeah like you said a lot will be closed. I know the wonderful place I stayed in Sewell will be closed then, as well as the Kenai Fjord boat tour which is absolutely fabulous. I think Denali might be closed then too. I guess if you plan to go to Alaska multiple times you could go in April and then another time. The other thing is Alaska is a lot of driving. I drove by myself and felt very safe, only a few short spots with no cell service. I certainly would’nt feel too comfortable driving so much in the snow/ice during that period.
