I’d be pissed if I ordered something used and it showed up dirty. I mean, if they don’t have the quality control to make sure it’s clean/sanitary before sending it, did they even check to make sure it works??
Agreed - I would return (as much as that's a pain) because with my luck it would stop working next week.
You both make a good point. Thank you for alleviating my guilt over sending it back. I am going to do that and buy a different one.
1confused1, I want to say one of my employees also got a note from doctor about strongly encouraging WFH (I don't recall because I didn't need it, she got it because the doctor offered it). I would tell your doctor that with the bathroom situation you're having to "travel" more then is acceptable and it's really best if you're let remain stays stable, etc. but absolutely talk to HR - don't stop yourself with assumptions.
1confused1, agreed - you should consult HR because they can easily accommodate your needs. Just because they don't want to doesn't mean they can't. Though to be fair you haven't actually asked - you're just assuming they won't let you.
I have asked and was told no. My manager and Sr. Manager would tell me to go find a touchdown space in another building. Trust me, I have tried (I’ve been in a boot since the beginning of December) but they basically told me your job requires you to be on site, if you can’t be on site then you need to take leave.
Cross your fingers I get the job I applied for that allows for telecommuting!!

Oh I'm so sorry - I misunderstood! Is asking HR a possibility?
H and I are currently planning to go back to the college town were we met to celebrate our 13th anniversary in June. It's a tiny town with nothing cool there. Just the college. When I graduated in 2008 it had 3.5K year round residents. We haven't been back since a few months after I graduated to grab the last of H's stuff from storage. Now we need to nail down dates and lock in childcare. (My parents already agreed to watch DS for us sometime in June.)
The construction workers are building so fast! If they aren't done before fall I'll be really surprised. Please be done by fall! *crosses everything* I'm so tired of living in an active construction site. SO tired.

We got a new toy today! And by new toy I mean a Narwal robot vacuum/mop. DH is giggling gleefully as it maps the first floor. We both hate mopping and he doesn’t want to get a house cleaner while WFH and his company gave him $750 in gift cards to Best Buy for his Christmas present so this is what we got!
Our poor 17 year old cat is hiding underneath my office chair.
Someone sent my baby a barefoot dreams baby blanket and it's real nice. I get the hype now over the blanket. I would never buy myself one because I'm a poor, but I will thoroughly enjoy the baby sized one we now have.
I have a very small bookstagram account. I read an ARC by an author I really like and I loved her first book. The second book was ok, but I felt the need to rate it 4.5 because she sent me the ARC and is really very sweet.
But I dislike when there are characters/scenes in the beginning of the book and then those characters are never mentioned again. So the main character has a conversation with coworkers about her boyfriend. She breaks up with the boyfriend, get sa new boyfriend, and never talks to the coworkers about new boyfriend? Even just a couple paragraphs would have been fine.
I don't know if I'm being too picky or what.
I would not feel pressured to give it a good review. Her work needs to stand on its own merit.
In my career I have tested and reviewed a lot of products and fiction/nonfiction books (I’ve even been a judge for an international book award) and I don’t think anyone is doing anyone any favors by not being truthful.
The client I had that backed out (but paid me a kill fee!) has left a hole in my planned work schedule this spring.
I’m annoyed for a few reasons: 1. they strung me along since November and I turned down some other smaller jobs because I was supposed to be busy 2. it seemed like a really fun project 3. one of the women in the group was supposed to help me with my new loom that just arrived and now I don’t feel comfortable asking her for help 4. they were just so unprofessional 5. I had enlisted other people in my industry for the project and then had to awkwardly explain that my client scraped the project and decided to do something nonsensical instead.
I have one project lined up with a really big name website which is cool but not a ton else. The time to get jobs for this spring was really when I was working on the other project in November/December.
Luckily we weren’t counting on the money for the day to day but it was supposed to go to a new (used) car for my husband which we need because his car is old and we are still waiting for a part for the ABS to come in since June.

I got one for Christmas and it is a hot commodity as my house. I seldom get to use it, it's monopolized by one of the cats or the dog. The dog will even try to steal it from the cats.
Since I am not on BC anymore, and don't have fallopian tubes, I have completely lost track of when I have my period. It showed up today and felt like a total surprise. I think it's still fairly regular but I can't seem to find room in my brain to pay attention anymore.
I track in the health app that comes with an iPhone. It’s very easy and I don’t have to commit it to memory.
I think I want one of these Bob Saget sweatshirts that John Mayer commissioned, but the size chart is really throwing me. I normally would get a M in a unisex hoodie, but when I held a fabric tape measure up to me, those measurements are nuts/huge: represent.com/srf

I do the same. And I realized today that I’m 12 days late. I’m 46 with one tube and H is fixed so I’m not worried I’m pregnant or anything, but still.
The ice maker on our fridge hasn’t been crushing ice and we have waited MONTHS for the parts to come in. The repairman came out today and now the ice maker will ONLY crush ice and I can’t get cubes.

I track it on my FitBit app. My period is a giant asshole that likes to come early or late with no rhyme or reason so tracking it at least gives me a bit of a ballpark estimate.
I swear to god, the thing I look forward most to every day is the 3-4 peanut butter blossoms I make and eat fresh after dinner each evening. Much healthy, very coping.

Recipe? Eta: googled this and I'm guessing there's sarcasm here.

LOL. Tons. The recipe is Reese’s pre-made peanut butter cookie dough + Hershey’s kisses
I’m very excited because I read an article in the paper this weekend about something called the “wee Irish pub” which is a full Irish pub in a trailer that you can have delivered to your house for the day - a bar, taps, electricity, fireplace, seating… I immediately booked this for DHs birthday. I’m cracking up over this. It fits 12 people, perfect Covid friendly random ass birthday activity.
DD's friend from across the street just came over to drop something off, and on her way out the door, after DD gave her a hug and told her to feel better, she announced that her friend might have strep throat.
Hold up. The child came over unmasked and might have strep??

I want this in my life. Going out without going out? No set up or clean up? I control the patrons? That's the dream!

This is literally the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!! How fun!!
I am mad at H because he didn't listen to me when we were doing construction in the basement and I wanted to take care of stuff with the radon pit. Now we get the tests back and it's not keeping the levels quite low enough. We're probably going to have to open the new soffit and run a pipe from the sump pit. We already spent $500 to move the fan and now we're going to have to spend another $500+ to do this. And I'm just irritated because he was very dismissive when it would have been less costly to do this when the ceiling was open. The money isn't a huge deal, but it's just the principle! And I said my peace (piece?) and he apologized and said he was wrong, but I'm still mad about it.
I really fucking need a couple days off. I am not in a good headspace right now.
