I'm redoing the guest room. My whole life it's just been a hodge podge of inherited assorted furniture, so I'm trying hard to make it look finally nice and cohesive. I have a wooden bed that I'm keeping, thrifted side tables that I'm going to lacquer white, and am painting the walls dark teal. This pic is my model:
Can I use these table lamps with it? I fully admit I've never in my life cared if the overhead went with the lamps; no clue why I'm asking now. The overhead light is more brass and the lamps more gold.
I can't get the picture from Lowe's to work. Are you worried about the metals being slightly different? Because honestly, they'll probably be far enough away from each other that it won't matter. I have a gold toned mirror in my half bath and my cabinet handles are a slightly different gold tone and you can't even really tell.
I couldn't get the overhead light fixture to open, then I opened it in a new tab and it was fine.
I really like everything you picked! I think it'll look great. I'm not a fan of everything super matchy-matchy. I have brass pulls on my dresser, gold frames on the walls, etc.
Thanks darby, huskymom, @sameoldstory, eb777888! This kind of stuff doesn't come naturally to me, so I appreciate the input. I went ahead and ordered the lamps.

Yes, they will work well together! I don’t see much difference in the metal finish colors and I think the overhead light will be far enough apart that you won’t notice. Is your inspiration photo more for colors than furniture / decor style?

Yes! That’s right. I should have been more clear.
This room does not get a lot of natural light, despite two windows, and has lots of gloomy yellow shadows. It’s currently painted a bright cream, which is actually made it worse. I read that one way to deal with shadowy rooms is to go for a deep rich color instead, so I picked the teal.
After that I knew I didn’t want to replace the bed, so I just looked for pictures with a wooden bed and a teal wall to help me understand what color of side tables. But I’m hoping for a look that is a bit more “polished” or glam. I don’t think “polished” is really the word I’m looking for, because the picture I linked looks very polished. Maybe I mean just a little bit fancier.

I think the teal color and gold lights / lamps are perfect for the glam look!
