I have only read Hunt the Stars by Jessie Mihalik, which is a sci-fi romance. It was only ok, I wish it had more world building. It's basically impossible to find books in this genre that aren't just alien smut. I want some actual story or strong characters or build up to the relationship to go along with the smut haha!
QOTW: I watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics and that's it. I plan on watching some of the Super Bowl commercials and the half-time show. I'm obviously a big sports fan.
I’m still working on Billy Summers. I’m really enjoying it and hoped to be finished by now (I have a library backlog) but it’s been a really busy week and I haven’t been able to give it the time it deserves.
I read World Made By Hand by James Howard Kunstler, which I didn’t enjoy all that much, and just started Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson, which seems very promising.
QOTW: I like the Olympics. I make a point of watching figure skating and catch bits of other events here and there. No one in my house has any interest in football.
I'm about halfway through Our Woman in Moscow by Beatriz Williams. I went into it with low expectations but it's actually pretty good. I particularly like how the two different perspectives from which it is written feel very distinct. A lot of authors really fail at this.
QOTW: I watched a few minutes of the biathlon because I find it so bizarre but that's it. We'll be in Belize for the Super Bowl so we're unlikely to watch it. I generally have zero interest in football but the halftime show actually looks pretty good this year.

Recently started People We Meet On Vacation. It's ok so far.
QOTW: we've watched a little, mostly snowboarding and figure skating. Our college hockey team has a couple players and our coach is there, so we might need to watch them! I saw it was on late tonight though. As for the Super Bowl, I rarely care about the teams (Vikings will never make it. Lol). So we watch the commercials and half time show if we're interested. And the puppy bowl is a must 😉
In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom by Yeonmi Park, 3.5*
I'm currently reading The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman.
QOTW: We don't watch much tv in our house. I have not watched any of the Olympics. We might put the Super Bowl on if my son wants to watch because the kids in his class were talking about it. I'm sure it won't keep his attention for long.
I’m reading City of Girls, but not much, mostly right before bed. I also have a few audio books but haven’t done any of those this week.
QOTW: we’re watching Olympics at least a little every night. I’ve tuned out most of the NFL season, but watched the playoffs as my DH’s team was in. We’re going to a neighbor’s to watch Super Bowl.

Finished Recipe for Persuasion, Jane in Love, and Pride and Premeditation. I really enjoyed Jane in Love and Pride and Premeditation. They were both fun and light and I didn't realize how much I needed that. I didn't enjoy Recipe for Persuasion as much as I liked the first in the series (Pride, Prejudice, and other Flavors) but Persuasion is also not my favorite Austen, so a retelling of it isn't going to rank as highly for me. I will say Dev does a great job of bringing it into modern times. It makes way more sense for a Princess to have someone push back against her relationship than in Anne Elliot's case, and I liked that our main character pushed back against that.
Currently reading The Bennet Sisters and listening to North and South.
QOTW: Have you been watching the Olympics? Will you watch the Super Bowl? I haven't been watching the Olympics, but will watch the Superbowl tomorrow.
I’m working on The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. Time travel and books with fantastical elements don’t tend to be my jam so this isn’t my favorite book ever at this point…
Yes, I’ve been watching the Olympics when I can, and will watch the game tonight.
