I am 45 and cannot look at myself in a zoom without noticing how deep the lines around my mouth have gotten. I had a consult today. It would be $750 per year (ish) to do my moth and $300/4months for my forehead.
Do you regret your fillers? Are you happy with them? Please talk me into or out of them.
I've been getting Botox and Dysport for 1.5 years now, but they are neuromodulators and are different from fillers. I love it. I just get it in my forehead right now and it smooths everything out. I started out just getting Botox everywhere but spoke with my injector and she said to try Dysport for my forehead lines because of how it spreads out a little more compared to botox. So now I get Botox where my 11's are and Dysport in my forehead.
I do botox to my 11s. I initially did it to forehead and 11s but the forehead was way too much. I didn't like how I looked. So now I just do the 11s. I go maybe every 4-6 months. It doesn't cost me that much. It's $11 a unit where I go. I love it.

I only do Botox (for my forehead lines and my crows feet). I love my Botox. I am on the younger side but I’m not sure if I would ever go the filler route for my face. I have heard some stories about it doesn’t fully dissolve and I feel like it generally makes peoples face look heavy or something. But Botox for life.

So Botox and Dysport are not the same as fillers. They’re all injected, but one freezes the muscles that cause wrinkles (Botox/Dysport) and the other adds volume (fillers like Restylane and Juvederm).
I do both and am quite obsessed. I use Botox for my 11s and crow’s feet, and fillers to hide my under-eye bags. Botox lasts about 3-4 months and fillers last 6-12 months depending on brand.
ETA: I LOVE the way my fillers look and I don’t think anyone would guess I get them (including my own H.) I get them in my upper cheeks, which is where you lose the volume that makes your eye bags more prominent.
I do Botox in my forehead and between my brows and j love the look of it. Everything looks smoother but i still have movement.
I’m getting lip filler this weekend and am a bit nervous about it. I know I want noticeably fuller lips, but I don’t want it to be too drastic either.

I do and love Botox when not pregnant.
I did a consult for fillers for my smile lines, but I didn't end up doing it. The usual place of injection is in your cheeks to lift them to smooth the smile lines. One of the risks of injection there is nearly immediate and almost always irreversible blindness if you hit the wrong blood vessel. I have an eye thing (I backed out of PRK too), so I decided to live with my lines. Blindness isn't worth it to me.
The doctor I saw had only once had it happen, and was able to reverse it in the office. But she also only does that particular procedure close to the end of the day so she can accompany a patient to the hospital if necessary. No thank you very much. I totally get others being okay with the risk, but this one for me isn't worth it.
Botox user here! I do around my eyes and 11's and love it. I was supposed to go today but had to reschedule. I did a lip flip with botox once and as much as I loved the result, it hurt so dang bad. I don't think I'll ever do filler (although never say never)

I do Botox (and have tried other similar injectables) and have been happy with the results. I get my forehead, between my eyebrows and my outer eye area done. My goal is to look refreshed/well rested and they do the trick! Plus they wear off so if it isn’t something you enjoy, no long term harm.
I do botox for my crows feet and my “angry glare” line lol. I love it. My dermatologist has a light touch, so I look much better but not completely smooth/motionless. It’s pricey but so worth it to me. I haven’t talked to her about fillers so I don’t know much about them- I think I would be a bit more nervous about them and just want to make sure I start very light/small. I think it’s easy to go overboard with them, but when done well it can be great.
I love Dysport but am currently not doing it. I did it about 6 years ago for about 3 years and then had to stop for financial reasons. I did it again for about 2 years and have had to stop again. It works wonders on my face.

I do dysport/Botox and love it. In fact, this thread reminded me I need to call tomorrow no make my next appointment!
Last time I had it done, I went to a new person, and she did a little less than what I got previously but it looked SO GOOD. My only complaint is that it gives me a headache for a few days afterwards. It’s weird but I think the needle pokes themselves have something to do with.
I get Botox on my forehead and my crows feet. I don’t get a ton of units so I still have movement but it makes a huge difference. I had to stop during 2020 because our income went down drastically. 2021 was a huge year for our business so back to Botox for me!!!
I’ve done Botox on my forehead and 11s for five years but switched to Dysport the last time on the advice of the injector and I think I like it better. Kicked in earlier and is lasting longer.
If you do Botox for your forehead lines, what does it cost and how often do you get it done? I know this will vary by region and person, but just generally curious. I am very close to pulling the trigger. My forehead really bothers me.

I highly recommend going to someone who charges by the unit, not the area. Where you are, I’d expect to pay $15-18/unit.
When I started Botox at 35 (36?), I only needed nine units in that area. Now I probably get around 12.
People metabolize Botox at different rates (apparently frequent exercise makes it wear off sooner, for example.) Three months is about average.

This is great, thanks! I’ll be 34 in April. I have a feeling this will be a birthday present to myself.

I live in the Midwest and the last time it was $11/unit. I think 20 units.
Oh I also did my lips twice. It’s very subtle though. I had a very thin upper lip, so she made it more symmetrical, and I added just a bit of volume all around to replace what I lost to aging.

I just got it done for the first time. I got my forehead lines, 11s and eyes done. I did 24 units - I’m almost 45. My friend who is 40 did the same and got 20 units.
We paid $11/unit but it was a promotion (party). I think it’s normally around $15/unit. This is a HCOL area of Bucks County PA (almost considered a suburb of NYC).

I did filler in the lines around my mouth and was very happy with it. Let me see if pics will attach:
Before:
After
Nothing extreme, just took some of that deepness out of the lines. It’s been over a year so I need to do it again. I’ve also been getting Botox for several years in my forehead, 11’s and Crows feet.
I do Botox for my crows feet. I pay $15/unit. It is usually about $200 and I go every 4ish months. I LOVE the results. I have been going since I was 36 and done with pregnancy/nursing. I looked SO TIRED in pictures and it makes all the difference.
I got my forehead done once and I didn’t really see an amazing difference, so I haven’t done that again. I have been thinking of doing small lip fillers but I am a bit scared.
Last month,I got under eye filler, and when I went in, she said you have to get some in your upper cheeks also when you do under eyes. It hurts really so bad...she gave me fake boobs to squeeze while she was doing it and I broke one. LOL. But I am very pleased with the results. They were doing a botox special, and I got 30 units in my forehead too.
Ermahgawd....you look amazing. Do I need to add undereye to my "list"? How many units total? I'm def doing my folds (I cringe at this word) in June when we have our next party. They said I'd need close to a full - wondering if I'd get away with 1.5 or I'd need 2 full if I added the eyes.
starburst604 your results are perfect! I have deep NL folds - always have. Its part of my face structure. I have no desire to get rid of them completely, just soften them a bit.

I’ve been doing Botox for 3 years now and LOVE it. I’m nervous to start doing fillers in my cheeks and undereye areas (where I’d benefit the most) because I feel like those are more obvious. But for lips, if done by an experienced injector with a light touch, I think you’ll have great results.
I only get my forehead done and it's a little less than $100. The first time I got botox, I went to a plastic surgeon and he put almost $400 into my forehead alone and I hated it so much. It was way too much. I never went back to him and found someone else (sorry, I don't pay attention to units). I'm very "less is more" when it comes to Botox and fillers. I don't have 11's yet, but I believe that for some reason, it takes a lot of botox for that area so that's going to cost more.
I'm getting lip injections next month and it's going to be $400. Sigh. My injector said it's very painful. Has anyone had their lips done? I'm a little scared. Botox hurts sooo much and she said the lip injections hurt much more.
It hurts really so bad...she gave me fake boobs to squeeze while she was doing it and I broke one.
I've also done my undereyes twice and been very pleased with the results. It looks completely natural and normal; I actually didn't realize how bad my hollows were until I saw them afterward.
But agree with the above lol -- maybe not painful for me per se, but uncomfortable and I passed out the first time and honestly came pretty close the second time, too. Yikes. But I don't do well with eye stuff generally. Luckily the second time has really lasted over a year at this point. (I think the first time my doctor was pretty conservative and I went back to do it again maybe 8 months later? She said she'd do a little more that time now that I knew I liked the result.)
I do Dysport in my forehead/11s every 3 months. The 11s is really more preventive for me at this point.
