DC family hotel recs?

I’ve spent a lot of time in DC for work but what I look for when traveling solo for work and with 2 kids and my husband are different.

We will be driving so will need parking (and will pay for it), otherwise we want to be downtown or near DuPont or somewhere with stuff around to do and easily accessible to the mall. Happy to use the metro to get around, and lots of walking is fine too.

Any good recommendations?

We have stayed at The Mayflower and liked it. We did a 1 bedroom suite and DS stayed in the living area. Close to attractions and a nice hotel.

jaylea, we stayed at the Hyatt Place DC Mall as a family, and I stayed there later on my own for a conference, and it was great! We used points for our family stay. It’s close to the Metro, but also walking distance to loads of museums. The rooftop bar was a lot of fun.

Thank you! We ended up booking at Hilton garden inn near the White House, which looks pretty good. We just had to book something as we were running out of options/time with our dates approaching
