I have put up the weed shield on the sides of the raised bed to protect the wood (at least for a while). Tomorrow, I am picking up a bunch of leaves and twigs from a neighbour to put at the base (it degrades perfectly and makes it less expensive than filling with bags of soil). I just need to put down some cardboard under all of that, then fill it up with soil in the next week or two, build in some protection from the cats (who will dig and poop in it if I don't) and get my container garden prepped. Tomatoes are growing well indoors, it seems as if I might actually have some onions and leeks growing too, and I'll start a few other things shortly.
Things that I've done: -Built two more raised planters so I can double my veggie garden size -Ordered veggies to be delivered mid-May -Cleaned all the patio furniture -Weeded all of my front garden beds
Things I need to do: -Scuffle hoe out the grass where I'm putting the new raised planters -Order and lay compost/soil mixture in my raised planters -Weed back garden beds -Order and lay the mulch in garden beds -Decide on flowers for two new pots I inherited from my mom (likely begonias or geraniums) -Get contractors scheduled to deal with our sump pump discharge (we're doing an underground pipe that ties in directly to sewer out front)

Yay! Despite all the anxiety with scheduling the fence and site prep and shed delivery in that order, the shed has arrived! Is there anything people suggest to make the area around the shed look a little nicer, like disguise the foundation a little or something? Ignore the shrubbery to the right, a lot of that is stuff I tore out where the shed would go that is just awaiting haul-away).
It looks great! I've never seen a shed foundation elevated like that - mine was put in so the shed sits at ground level. I think step one is getting a ramp so you can easily get wheeled equipment in and out. That will help disguise the front. Some shrubs or flowers on either side would help with the rest.

It looks so nice! You may want a ramp so that you can get wheeled equipment in and out easier. Pots on either side of the doors may be nice, but may get in the way when you want to open them.
We are getting quotes for grading/sport court install so likely not to invest too much time until that is decided/installed. We do need to take up the moss growth though and prob overseed.
Update: the sport court install starts tomorrow! This past weekend we scrambled to move/transplant plants we wanted to keep. Excited we will have a more useable yard for the summer.
icedcoffee, that looks so good, what an improvement! I've thought many times about turning our side yard into pavers like that because we just don't get any sun over there so the grass is super patchy, to say the least. Just not sure it's worth the expense in our case.

Thanks! We would have just done grass if it was possible but the original owner built this massive retaining area so we were stuck with it. It does look good, but I need to forget the cost before I can enjoy it. LOL
Now that the path is done we need to get the mulch guy in. I feel like it will be a while because we waited so long to reach out but we needed the path to be done. So everyone who comes to Easter gets to see my weeds.
My mondo grass got pretty trampled by the workers and covered in various cement and sand. Hopefully they perk back up. I need to replace 1 that somehow disappeared. 🤔
