My new taos sneakers were just delivered (I kept on seeing goldengirlz recommend them) and they are really cute and comfy. I plan to wear them to the office and idgaf if they are casual, I will wear them with dresses.
We're returning to the office next week and I'm essentially bribing myself with new clothes to lessen my anxiety about it (non-covid anxiety, anxiety around changes and having to be a social human being again).
I’m glad you love your new sneakers — they’re very cute — but I don’t think that was me. 😀
I don’t know if it was me, but I sing the praises of Taos sneakers (and shoes) whenever I can.
Which makes me want to wear my Taos heels when I go into the office next week. But, I’m suddenly unsure if I can wear heels anymore 😂
I have a crafty festival the first weekend in May, and a concert the 3rd weekend (Saturday). My friend asked me to go to another show the 2nd weekend (Friday). I passed. Because after two years, just thinking about 3 events on the calendar is stressing me out 😂
I haven't seen a primary care doctor in almost 10 years. I just called to make an appointment to establish care with the health system I work for. Their soonest appointments for any of their community sites in the greater metro area for my city was 2023.
2023!!!!!!! That is bananas. I was able to make an appointment with our hospital for July, which is only slightly less ridiculous.

You are no alone. It’s super hard to get those new patient, establishing care appointments. We moved roughly 20 miles last summer, and I can not find someone local for my H. Luckily, the old place is somewhat in between, so it’s a 20 min drive. But he doesn’t go enough so he has been bounced through all the rotating new people there. I was able to get most of his specialists local, and in the same hospital system. So… 🤷♀️ I can’t imagine if someone moved from out of state who had health issues enough they shouldn’t wait that long.
On the health care tangent, I’m doin my first colonoscopy next Friday. This past week, I had two different friends ask about spending Thursday or Friday with me (bc of proximity to airports and events). Oh hells no. I am not having houseguests while prepping or in my post-anesthesia haze. But, it’s just weird how it lines up the same weekend.
I'm sorry suburbanzookeeper. You don't have to justify your choices to anyone and you obviously love your pets and know what's best for them and you. I wish you lots of strength in the months ahead.
I have a friend whose husband liked to feed the squirrels. He'd been a city kid and enjoyed their antics. The nuts attracted rats which climbed into his car and ate the car's electrical harness. He had to replace the entire thing once and do a partial replacement a few months later. Their insurance picked up most of it, but they've spent thousands keeping rats and mice at bay.

When my family moved to my hometown almost 2 years ago the only primary care medical professional taking new patients in my entire city was one Nurse Practitioner. So we all see her. It's ridiculous!
