The weekend was pretty good. Dh was away Fri morn - Sun afternoon. Friday afternoon we swam a bit and just hung out. Saturday DD1 had a softball game that was the looooongest game of the season, and of course DD2 had to come since Dh was away. She did pretty well though. Better than I would have thought. Then the kids had friends over to swim, and DD1 went to see her friend in a play Saturday night. Sunday I spent ALL DAY finishing DD1's packing. I still have a bit to do because as I was packing I realized that I was missing a few things. So many random orders to Amazon...
I started Adderall today. I'm nervous about it because I am very sensitive to all medication. So far I'm feeling a little spaced out and I'm not noticing a positive effect on my focus, but I'm on an extremely low dose.
This week should be relatively quiet. Kids have piano and DD1's therapy today, and no sports until DD1 plays softball on Wednesday night. The kid wrap up school Wednesday. DD1 will go to a pool party and DD2's class is meeting at a playground after school for popsicles. DH is taking the kids camping on Friday, so I'll probably spend Thursday prepping. DD1 may have a championship softball game on Thursday night if they win Wednesday. They've split the games with the team they're playing on Wednesday, so there is about a 50% chance that they advance.
Our weekend went well. The girls had a ton of fun at their 5k on Saturday. It was so awesome to see the whole state come together and all the girls supporting each other. Last year it was only our elementary school, right in town, because of COVID. This year was a huge celebration and really fun! The weather was perfect too. Yesterday I got caught up on all the laundry and tidying up around the house. The cleaners come this week for a real deep cleaning but we had stuff everywhere, so it feels good to have everything put away now.
It's the last week of school so it's a busy one. There's no after school care this week so we have to manage car rider pick up line every day to add to the stress. Field day is tomorrow and parents are invited to go have lunch with the kids outside so I'm going to try to stop by. I have back to back doctor appointments in the morning so it depends on the timing of those. Friday is a half day and then we're going to a minor league baseball game that night. I'm really looking forward to it. It started as just our little family of five and has now expanded to include my parents and siblings and beau's mom and siblings. It's a full family affair! lol
I need a new show to watch when I'm home alone as background noise. I've been sucked into New Amsterdam and loved it, but didn't realize I had gotten myself caught up to "real time." So now I have to wait until the fall for a new season to come out! Any suggestions for something with a ton of episodes that's kind of a fluff show? I've done Grey's, New Amsterdam, Parenthood... stuff like that.
I had Friday off, but I can't remember what I did Friday. We did go to the brewery that night. Saturday I worked. DH took the kids to the lake house on Sat morning and returned Sunday afternoon.
I spent most of Sunday cleaning the house. I guess it sucks to not do that much fun stuff, but it did really need it.
Sunday night we saw Top Gun: Maverick. We really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, there was a arrogant loud talker behind us with his kids loudly criticizing the staff, and talking at the top of his voice. DH complained, and the employees came to talk to him. And not sure what happened because they did it quietly, but the family left, but made sure to leave all their garbage behind. And its a lot of garbage because it is a dine in theater, and they had eaten their dinner already and just left it everywhere. I don't understand people. Why go to the movies and then talk loudly like you are trying to bother people, and you have kids in tow? Why berate employees who are just trying to help you? He sounded like a huge jerk.

It’s been a very Monday sort of Monday. It took H 4 loud times to leave for the airport this morning, DD2 started camp and despite my asking multiple times if she had everything, she still forgot her swimsuit, turning a 15 minute round trip into a 40 minute fiasco and when I got home DD1 was in a tizzy because there was a very persistent salesperson in our driveway. Plus I’m on my period and I am just tired of trying to surgically remove DD1 from her iPad.

We had a nice weekend. Just the usual kids activities; but we took a bike ride to the farmer's market on Saturday and played some soccer with the kids yesterday in the school field. It was surprisingly fun - reminded me sometimes we don't need anything organized, kicking the ball around can be fun too!
I realized that I spend too much time on my phone and really should model better screen time habits; so decided to go back to reading regularly. I picked something fluffy so it was nice and relaxing. DS, dd and I all curled up on the couch and read for almost 90 minutes before their bedtime last night, it was really nice.
It was a busy weekend. DD's b-day was exciting to start with auntie passing out at the spa day. We did family celebration in the morning due to schedule conflicts and it turned into to being all about auntie. My brother did get DD the Hedwig mechanical lego owl so they spent the afternoon doing legos and having fun. We took DD out to dinner at her choice and then did a quick Costco plus picked up the cookie cake she requested.
Sunday was busy with prepping food for her gym banquet. We went to her friend's college graduation and got to say goodbye as she is moving tomorrow to N Carolina. Banquet for gymnastics was good. Everyone brought home food as there was a lot. We were asked to bring a main and dessert for 10 people. DD got a certificate for making the 36 All Around club for spring season. She also got overall most improved for the entire team and a cute little medal. DD wasn't expecting any award, so this was a huge deal.
DH is now sick...clogged/runny noise and tired. I'm not sure what is up but it could be that his mom talked to him over the weekend. That always sets him off.
Saturday we went out with friends. DS made it through lunch and then wanted DH to come get him because he had had enough of people. I don’t know what to do with him. He’s been saying he’s sad because he misses his friends, but when we arrange to see friends, he doesn’t want to spend more than an hour doing anything before he wants to go back home. It’s maddening.
Sunday I left around lunchtime for a business trip. Between yesterday and today, I’m starting the week off by having worked 20 hours, so I’m going to take time off later this week.
Tomorrow is our 25th wedding anniversary. It’s hard to believe it’s been that long!
I spent the weekend with stitches in my eyelids/swollen eyelids after my surgery Friday, so I just hung out with the boys while DH took DD to her softball tournament games. They played well and tied the team that went on to win it all. The district tournament is this coming weekend, and will determine whether they qualify for the state tournament.
This week is nuts because it's the last week of school for the elementary kids (ends at 12:45 pm Thursday). Thursday afternoon is DS2's preschool promotion plus several end of year parties at the beach. Saturday we have between 1 and 4 softball games, depending on how the girls play, as well as 3 birthday parties which we may or may not be able to make it to, depending on softball.
So a funny travel story. I just spent 20 minutes listening to a girl bitch to a stranger sitting next to her about how flights are always late and how she has 4 connections and there’s just no way she’s going to make them all and how no one from the airlines never helps when you’re going to miss connections and it’s their fault. I learn she’s a nanny moving to Hawaii with the family she works for, who are a military officer couple, that she already has other nanny friends there, she’s 25 years old, blah blah blah. The whole time she’s yakking, they’re boarding a flight at our gate for Chicago. Then she leaves and leaves her stuff with the stranger. They ask if anyone who is on a later Chicago flight hasn’t checked bags as they can accommodate them on this earlier flight. Said stranger gets up, hurriedly asks everyone else to watch the girl’s stuff, and gets on the plane. The gate agent is yelling for Ms. Britton as she’s the only person not on the plane. Girl comes sauntering back, gate agent asks if she’s Ms. Britton (she is) and yells to her to hurry because they are literally holding the door open for her. So she stops to argue that she never saw them board the plane. Jesus, you moron. Get all your shit and get on the effing plane. And pay attention next time! Less yakking, more boarding!
DD had her first sync competition this weekend.. She ended up coming home with four gold medals and is incredibly proud of herself. I don't think she even realized that... they only competed against themselves. The other rink they skated against had two teams, but no youth team, and only entered each team in single team events. So DD's two youth events had no competitors, and they didn't submit any all team events, so they won those also.
So I officially have back my Saturday mornings for the next month at least, maybe two months, before they start up with early morning practices again.
In other news, I think some of the skate moms who run the show realized they got lucky with the k3am family, since we are excellent at following instructions and no good at sitting around.. Even my six year old was in on the action assembling props and background screens. And he actually was waaaaaaaay more helpful than I'd imagine a 6 year old could be. 84% of the time anyways..

Beau and I did a last minute bike/camping trip and had fun. We had been to this ORV park once before, but hadn't explored very many trails. We explored more this time and found some that we want to check out when we go back. We ended up hitting bad traffic on the way home and it took us 5 hours vs the 3 it took to get there.
This week we're starting to prep for things coming up, like graduation parties, Father's day, and the 4th of July will be here before we know it. We're headed to Costco tonight for our usual supplies plus we'll start stocking up for the 4th so we don't have a big bill all at once. Beau had his NEXUS appointment this morning so hopefully we'll be able to make trips to Canada again now that the border is open.
DH got his job!!!!! He beat out 15 other candidates! Our entire married life he has worked nights and weekends. He had moved to the office and will be working 7-3 M-F. Or come in early and leave early Friday, or whatever, they don't really care. We will not know how to act. I will not be invited to anything in the future and have to say, DH is working!!!!
rere, that is fantastic. He is going to have to find a weekday evening hobby so you can have some alone time.
Exactly. We are going to have to join a gym, take some classes or something. Separately. Im used to some alone time. But it will be nice now the kids are going in different directions.

We just got back from the beach. We actually on did a few hours at the beach since we got a beach house with a pool and the kids decided they enjoyed a clean pool vs a sandy beach. I'm both looking forward to and dreading going back to the office.
