My husband is driving me crazy. We decided not to do a huge renovation partly because he wants to move out of town, so then he wanted to do a smaller renovation so he wouldn’t hate living in this house for the next year and a half, then he decided no, he didn’t want to do that renovation, but we decided together that there are things we do to this house if we want to sell it, namely replacing the kitchen cabinets that are literally falling apart. He sat on an IKEA plan for several months and now the lead time is too long. Last week he asked me to look for something that would work with a short lead time. Amazingly I found it. We drove halfway across town to the showroom yesterday at 8am and met with a rep, loved what we saw. H emailed them plans immediately and they’re telling us we can get everything including countertops in 7-9 days. H now is on the fence because he doesn’t know how we can find someone to demo. I’m so over him being wushu washy about everything and not taking responsibility for anything.
The kids got a bunk bed this weekend. It took me years to convince him that the kids needed their own beds (they previously shared a double bed). Now he’s calling it my bunk bed which means he’s not happy about it. I’m including a picture because I think their room looks great.
I learned the fun lesson this weekend that cans of pop will explode if left in the heat. I knew they'd explode if they froze, but I had no clue about the heat, that never happened to me in Kansas. Now my trunk is covered in Dr Pepper zero.
I found out the hard way too. It was all over my car. 🥴

ny96 cute room! What doesn't he like? Love the natural lighting in their room. I'd tell him he can be involved in the plans/purchasing, but if he chooses to not actively participate he forfeits the rights to complain.
BTW everyone knows about the Grand Canyon, but I was actually more amazed by Zion National Park. That place is like being on another planet. I only scheduled a day to pass through but wished we'd had more time. I totally, highly recommend a visit; there's a cute town just outside the park, too, with lots of good restaurants and hotels.
We went to Zion probably 15 years ago. I had honestly never heard of it, but were invited to a wedding in Vegas and wanted to incorporate a road trip vacation while we were out there. Someone recommended Bryce and Zion, so we just did it without knowing much about what we are getting into.
It was one of the best vacations I've ever been on. I had on idea Utah was so gorgeous. Zion is still one of my favorite places, and I hope I can get back some day.
Arches National Park in Utah will always be my very favorite. My parents are avid hikers. We spent so much time in Utah at the National Parks when I was a kid. My parents snowbird in Utah every year now because they love the hiking areas there so much.

Ben Affleck's 10 yr old son backed a Lamborghini into a BMW at a car dealership. How did that ever come to be? I drove cars on my grandparent's farm younger than that, but they were not luxury cars and I was driving on private property up and down straight lanes with only corn stalks to hit. You would think a worker would have put the stop to that. J.Lo was in the backseat.

I’m thankful for this place. We have a group of wonderful people with just enough whack-a-doos to keep us level. The last few years have been difficult for many of us. I’m always blown away by the support strangers give one another. Sure, many of us are like minded and that helps. The kindness and support gives me a sense of hope for humanity.

I don’t think he was driving. I think he was sitting in the seat. I am in amazement that a kid was even in a driver seat if $$$$ car. My 14 year old is barely allowed in my driver seat. 😂

He sleeps better alone, so he often sleeps there and the kids sleep with me, but I have been arguing that this is their room. One of the reasons we are moving is to get more space with a guest bedroom he can go to without disturbing the rest of us.

Ok that makes more sense. So he just somehow shifted it to reverse.

Today is day 5 of my dad being in the hospital. I didn't make it here until almost 10AM because I overslept. Clearly, I am tired because I just took a nice 45-minute nap on a 2 person loveseat. I am 5'9" and was curled up like a baby on the thing.

I think it's mine too. I can't decide between that and Bryce, but Moab and the people there are just so amazing. Zion is beautiful but not my favorite. The sunsets on Lake Powell are the most amazing I've ever seen. I love Utah so much!

I was thinking of you tonight as I spent nearly half an hour cleaning sparkling cider out of my pantry. I think the bottle popped a leak due to heat and all the percussion from our ongoing roof replacement, and thankfully just the top sort of sprung open and the bottle didn't explode. But ugh, such a sticky mess.
