Semi win... we are spending like crazy... some scout trips for dh and son, all of us going on a trip at end of summer..and I've been able to do it without taking from vaca fund... so haven't saved anything but...
Loss: windshield on new car cracked and needs to be replaced... backorder so who knows when but glass alone is 945 and all estimates are about 1800 total. Ugh.
Ok, I think a few of us are in GA. I'm in metro Atlanta. shaynaatl and brooke77 are you in the metro area (if you are comfortable sharing that. Feel free to PM if if you'd prefer. I'm just curious.)
Win- I get a 4% raise at the end of this month. And I found out that I get a longevity raise at the end of the year- 5%. And I’m hoping our COLA will be 6% so this year looks close to 15% raise eventually.
Lose- needed a new battery this week - $200. And I seem to think my raise has it my account and I’m spending like that, but it hasn’t!
Win - I found out I'll be eligible for a raise, despite only having been at my job for 9 months by the time the review period begins.
Loss - it's a merit increase with a maximum of 3%, so the majority of employees will get more like 2%. I am not confident that I'm performing above average, so I'm expecting a 2% increase. Better than nothing, but I'm a bit worried about what this will mean for retention given inflation. I work for a non-profit so it's not exactly shocking that we don't have the money for big raises, but it's annoying all the same.
Win - I found out my FMLA will be paid at 100% for 12 weeks. My company was recently purchased so I had no idea what the benefits would be.
Also, we ordered a new vehicle in March and it finally came! We got 1,300 trade in value for my old vehicle, which was 18 years old. Way more than I expected!
Loss - DH scraped the paint off the top of his vehicle so we will need to fix it. Ugh.
Huge MM Win - DH found out he is being promoted to management when the company purchasing his current company takes over August 14. It comes with a 25% raise which combined with the smaller raises earlier in the year when he asked for more money and the 12% counteroffer raise he received in June after his boss freaked out that he put in his notice, his base hourly rate will have increased 58% since January 1. We will finally be able to achieve some major mm goals by the end of this year and in 2023.
