I can share my experience with quotes for a sliding glass door we had installed in our kitchen in 2018. We were putting a sliding door in where there had been 3 windows, our house is stucco.
The first quote I got was for 9k for a 9ft sliding door. Then I called a different company and got a quote for 5k for an 8ft sliding door.
The major difference in the price came from the larger opening requiring a new header, which is the framing around the opening so our house doesn't collapse Looking at installing these large front doors with a transom makes me think that a new header and additional framing will be required and that's what's driving the price. I would think just replacing an existing front door would be less than 2k.

Thank you! No, this is just slotting in a standard size door (36 inches) with sidelights with a new one (36 inches) with sidelights, all exactly the same measurements. No changes.
Sorry to bump this but I was wondering if any of you who got a door similar to this would share how much it cost? We just got a quote for close to $12,000 (but $7,500 with "discounts."
Did you ever get an updated price on this? I'm shopping for a front door right now. Why are they so expensive?!

No one ever replied to this with numbers. I got a later quote from Pella for the same look of door for $14K. I decided that my door opens and closes JUST FINE thank you very much, so I hired a glassmaker to put in full glass in our sidelights and door for under $2K. It isn't done yet but I'll post before and afters once it is.

I tried to look and couldn't find the info, but our contract says it was $9500 for ALL our doors and windows which is not just the front door but two french doors and 10 windows, so I think you can definitely get a better deal. My contractor recommended Therma-Tru and they have something on their website where you can go in and design your door. The one I designed was like $2800 more than the one he had planned, but a lot of that was having it pre-painted so I guess some things can make a big difference. Here's what it looked like in the end. The glass in the door and sidelights is frosted.
