Hotels and Food near Rose Bowl Stadium - Pasadena

We're going to an event at Rose Bowl in October and would like to stay nearby, or somewhere with an easy commute.  Any recommendations for hotels?  We won't be spending much time in the room so ideally we're looking for something clean, safe, and relatively budget friendly.

Also interested in suggestions for good places to eat.

Edit:  We will not have a car.  We'll be relying on public transportation, uber, etc to get to around.

We did an AirBnB last time we went to the Rose Bowl, and the Best Western on Colorado Blvd the time before that. There was a shuttle that went from Pasadena, downtown area to the Rose Bowl.

Russell's is great for brunch

Bea Beas in Burbank is really good too, near Warner Bros Studios (which is super fun)

We also liked the Blind Donkey and Kings Row.

Not a restaurant, but the Huntington Garden in Pasadena is amazing.

It might be a little above your price range, but The Langham is great, also I’ve heard The Westin is pretty good. Guisados for tacos and Lunasia for dim sum are a couple of my favorites in Pasadena.
