I feel like relief is coming. Yesterday I only turned the AC on for two hours and in the evening we opened all the windows and used fans and it was quite cool. We even needed blankets. And this morning when I went out it wasn’t nearly as hot feeling as yesterday morning. I hope the coolness moves inland soon, as I imagine the firefighters in the IE are miserable.
I feel like that too. I gave DS1 the option to miss soccer practice yesterday, but he chose to go. It wasn’t too bad and there was a breeze blowing. This morning however, my garage felt like a sauna as I was helping the kids get in the car.

In SoCal over the weekend, I couldn’t believe how hot it was at the family reunion at a park. Thankfully we were in the shade and there was a breeze at times.
Back home (NoCal)… it was a record high yesterday. A neighboring town lost power yesterday for hours and hours. We have our generator ready if we need to run power. The blinds are all closed. Too many giant crickets to open the windows that squeeze in the smallest spaces. Ugh.
Thankfully it will break by Sunday and only be in the mid-90s. It’s crazy to me that I’m looking forward to mid-90s weather.

It was 116 yesterday, I couldn’t cool my house lower than 83 despite running the ac for a good majority of the afternoon. It’s only 100 today, but is supposed to be 108 tomorrow. My first tennis lesson got canceled tonight because of the heat.
I feel like Mother Nature has a fever and we are all waiting for it to break.
