People around 45 tried to explain to him that mail in ballots would also benefit trump. He refused to change his position. And trump was also told it was too early to call the election but he instead just went on to declare he won…and this was planned by trump well in advance to declare he’d won before all votes could possibly be counted.
Showing clips of Bannon and Roger Rabbit Stone thrilling at the thought of the violence and anticipating claiming victory for the orange loser regardless of the vote outcome.
Holy crap. They just played a clip of Roger Stone saying "Fuck the vote, lets get right to the violence"
(Did we already see that clip? I can't even remember what I 'know' anymore)
I don’t know if it was in a previous hearing. I know they got footage from Stone’s documentary film crew (lol). Nothing like getting your bad acts on film and paying for it yourself. Geniuses.

Can someone tell me more about the Secret Service (I can totally go read but I'm sitting in a meeting about standardized testing and can't do that til later)?

They have texts and emails from the secret service that show that they knew that something was going to happen that day. They told Trump directly and other agencies, and also received other intelligence from other agencies. The takeaway is that everyone knew what was going to happen but could not stop it.

Besides the mysteriously deleted texts from Jan 5-6th - here's some excerpts from CNN (I just grabbed some updates from the first link I saw, it feels more impactful the way the Jan 6 Committee is presenting it):
"Secret Service messages: New Secret Service emails and text messages revealed agents spotted numerous guns in the crowd the morning of Jan. 6 before Trump was set to speak at the Ellipse. Rep. Adam Schiff said that the intelligence indicated multiple online users were targeting members of Congress and instructing others to “start marching into the chambers.” Messages also showed the Secret Service learned about the involvement of right-wing groups such as the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers."
"One Secret Service agent texted at 12:36 p.m. ET that day, according to the committee, “With so many weapons found so far; you wonder how many are unknown. Could be sporty after dark.”
Another agent responded minutes later, “No doubt. The people at the Ellipse said they are moving to the Capitol after the POTUS speech.”"

Ah ok. So it's not that the Secret Service was in on it, supporting Trump. So much as they were aware that something was coming and did nothing (or could do nothing) to stop it.
I caught a bit of Liz Cheney's comments. I wish more Trumpers would just LISTEN to her. Trump KNOWS it's a lie. he knows.
I don't think they care. Trump stands for what they want and they worship him. They are bad people, bad people don't care about the insurrection if it gets them what they want.

Don't want to like this, but yeah. And Cheney lost her primary by THIRTY-SEVEN PERCENTAGE POINTS. This is a cult, plain and simple.

I like the take that they subpoenaed him, not in hopes he'll respond but so that they can close out the report, saying they gave him opportunity that he declined.
