It was a very strange week. DD1 was home sick all week with HFM. Even though the rash wasn't bad, she said her feet were really painful and she didn't want to put on shoes or walk up and down stairs at school. That threw me all off and I got almost no work done.
The kids were off today, so it was kind of a chore-filled day. Laundry, house cleaner came, ordered groceries, took DD1 to a friend's house and DD2 to buy a gift for a birthday party tomorrow. Then DH and I took DD2 to lunch and she and I went for a walk with the dog after that.
Tomorrow DD2 is going into the city for a friend's birthday and DD1 is going to a friend's house. We are finishing a room in the basement and electric work is happening so I'm hoping I'll be able to do laundry.
Sunday DD2 has her last soccer jamboree early - must be on the field at 730 and the field is 45 mins away. Then the girls have their piano recital. My dad is coming, and we'll all go out to dinner after. Should be fun!
I was a tester for an escape room program at work. The one puzzle was extremely frustrating. I don't know what the other co-worker was doing, but once I gave up on that puzzle and she took it over, then I got a lot of things solved that she wasn't solving previously, but maybe she would have been onto it soon. She also didn't solve the first puzzle and they presenter decided to add a logic puzzle to make that one easier. The idea was to find 4 crystals, and I found 3 of them. But really I think if that first puzzle had been easier we would have cruised better.
Now I just want to go home, but I have 1.5 hours left....
We have soccer practice, a Stem program and a pancake breakfast this weekend. Luckily only DD is doing the stem program so we will have a quieter Saturday without her.
I am supposed to play volleyball tonight but I am exhausted from the concert. So I need to rally. Thankfully, I am off today and am trying to get a little cleaning done.
Dd is on a school trip tomorrow so I may do some Christmas shopping. Sunday, dd talk us into putting up the Christmas decorations. So we will spend the afternoon decorating, making chili.
On a really good note, in my cleaning, I decided to clean out one of my small dresser drawers that held old bracelets, jewelry and odds and ends. I pulled the drawer completely out and saw some money that had fallen in the back. It was $840!!!!!?? How did I not miss $840? When did I loose $840? I'm either Christmas shopping or putting it into a trip fund.
I had today off so we just hung around the house and got some chores done. DD2 is negative for flu and Covid, so that’s good news!
Tonight was supposed to be date night with beau. He was going to be home from work by 7 at the latest. But he just called and won’t be home until late. And it’s not even because of work! His mom and uncle were going to get dinner at the restaurant at 5 so beau was going to seat them and get them settled before heading home. Then she randomly pushed their plans back to 6:30 so beau is stuck waiting there until they show up. I’m feeling pretty annoyed since it’s a kid free weekend but he will be working for the rest of it. Tonight was our one chance! I’m currently trying to decide what kind of take out to order for myself instead.
I had a morning today with just DD and it was really nice. We went for a long walk on the coast, got donuts, and stopped at a store to buy some Christmas gifts. 5-year-old DS2 did his first ever day camp today at the ymca and luckily had a great time. Tonight I supervised DD and her flag football at the trampoline park. The two Coach dads organized it and I was the only other parent, so I offered to stay while they went to the brewery next door for a beer. They deserved it after volunteer coaching.
It was really interesting to watch the girl dynamics. It’s a 5th/6th team and DD is the youngest kid in 5th grade with an 8/15 birthday. So she just turned 10 and some of the girls are already 12, and that’s just such a huge gap in maturity. She had a great time, but it was clear that some of the girls wanted to be like ‘run along, little girl.’ Then toward the end the place turns out the lights and a bunch of teenagers showed up, so that made things interesting. I’m glad we don’t go out to kids activities at night much
This weekend both older kids have soccer games, DD has softball pictures and DS1 has a basketball game. DD is also going to do the legoland day with her BFF that she missed last weekend because of her softball tournament.
