UPDATE: I have a hilarious text thread with my mom and managed to get the darn thing in the oven. I'm way too intimately aquainted with that turkey now. I rubbed it with butter and put a few things in the cavity; sprinkled with seasoned salt and parsley. Fingers crossed it turns out.
I'm roasting a whole turkey for only the second time in my life. We were going to do "Thanksgiving lite" today with my parents, but my parents and I all have bad colds (not Covid) that we think we all got at my nephew's bday party last weekend, so they are not coming. Anyway, I'm still doing the dinner b/c obviously I have the turkey thawed (mostly; it's in water now).
Give me your best turkey tips if you have them and they are EASY. This doesn't need to be the world's greatest, most impressive turkey; I'm not rubbing under the skin or stuffing it with a complex mixture of fresh herbs.
For the record, I’ve been roasting turkeys for years and all I ever do is rub the whole thing with butter, sprinkle with salt and cook according to a google turkey roasting calculator, basting occasionally near the end. I personally think my turkeys turn out ‘excellent’. I think yours will be great.
