Lab work looks.. wonky to my layman's interpretation.
Blasts are 12% and should be 0% Microcytes are 1+ (with no standard range given) Polychromasia are 2+ (with no standard range given) Platelets are 412 with standard range of 140-400
I assume/hope that if they released labwork results without a call or email to discuss, these things can't be too abnormal. The last time he had bloodwork done, it took his pediatrician almost a month to respond to it... hoping we don't have to wait so long this time.

There are federal regulations (that have changed recently) in regards to releasing imaging and lab results directly to patients. So that’s likely why they were released without any discussion. I hope you can get in contact with the doctor soon to answer your questions.
The allergist who ordered teh tests has declined to interpret them and wants his primary to. Primary is out until after the holidays. Meanwhile my anxiety is through the roof. =\

I’m sorry:( Is the primary part of a group? If yes I’d push to see someone else. Is the additional bloodwork ordered?
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus

I had chronic hives for 2.5 years. It turned out I was allergic to wheat. They only antihistamine that worked for me was Allegra and I was taking it 3x a day at the recommendation of my dermatologist.
ETA: should’ve read the second page before posting. I’m so sorry and I hope that’s not what it turns out to be.

Oh no! Sending you good thoughts.
I will say though that we recently had to take DD to the hospital for a weird rash and scary blood work and it turned out to be something serious but also with no long term effects and didn’t really require treatment other than one round of oral steroids. I will keep my fingers crossed that something similar happens with your son and that it’s not leukemia.
There’s a possibility someone in the lab misread his initial results and identified an abnormal cell as a blast. A blast is the indicator for leukemia. He might just have mono… so more blood work, they’re going to retest a third time, some other testing and a mono test. And he may get to avoid the bone marrow biopsy.
I want off this rollercoaster, but I’ll ecstatic if he has mono.
