The gingerbread and pigs party was rescheduled from last weekend, due to my daughter’s bout with a stomach bug. If I ever post about doing a complicated, at-home December birthday party again, with optimistic visions of sugarplums dancing in my head, remind me about this! I feel a little overwhelmed, bc we have so much to do for Christmas on top of DH’s father passing away, upcoming funeral, and the kids being sick last week, but hopefully everything will come together.
I’m planning to stick the houses together with the burnt sugar method. Using graham crackers. I’m planning to do this today. That is OK, right? They can just sit out overnight?
It seems like I just have to do the icing in the morning. Was going to make a royal icing with meringue powder, I think.
I ordered little plastic squeeze bottles for the icing. Heard about that online, it seemed like a really good idea. I got the disposable pans someone suggested from the dollar store to put the houses in for each girl. I have muffin tins, bowls, and dishes for various candy and toppings.
Am I missing anything? I am only making white icing.

You can make royal icing in advance too. I think it's good in the fridge for 2-3 days and just bring it to room temp and then stir well when you're ready to use it.
The houses will definitely be fine overnight. I'm not familiar with the burnt sugar method but someone in the other thread said they hot glue their houses together and this info has been life changing for me lol.
