How is everyone doing on their goals or New Years Resolutions? If you did not have any goals or New Years resolutions, then name one fun fact about yourself.
My goal lately has been to lose weight before my surgery. I really should start measuring myself before and after. I always forget to do that. And, I am pretty sure my scale is on the fritz, and I need to throw it away and buy a new scale. But anyway, I am definitely losing inches even though I did not measure myself and the only way I can tell is how my clothes fit. My body also loves to bloat when I exercise which is totally annoying. But it is super weird to have a smaller waist but also be bloated.
I've been to 2 dance classes so far. I know none of the dances, so I am just winging it in the back. I'm missing this week because I am out of town, but hopefully back next week.
My goal was to move more and eat better, hopefully lose 5-10 lbs.
Between getting my period and breaking my tooth, the eating hasn't been awesome. Since I broke it eating a salad, I'm afraid to eat salad until it's fixed. And since DD2 has COVID, I can't get in to see the endo until late next week.
So... the moving more is going well. I've been getting up 4 days a week and working out before the work day starts. More walking the dog. Believe it or not I move a ton while coaching basketball. But the eating has not been great. My weight is up a bit, but I don't know if that's bloat or bad diet. Both maybe?
I did really well during week 1 of improving my movement levels and getting in some Peloton rides. Then immediately fell off the wagon because life got busy and I just don't end up prioritizing exercise. I just started up with another grad school class this week, so life is even busier. I need to get myself back in the habit.
A small win that I will take is that I'm doing better at using my standing desk during the week at home. I try to spend a little time each day standing.
My theme is taking care of me. Instead of battling 5pm traffic on gym days I've been staying late at work. I turn off all the computers, heat myself up some dinner, and read at my desk with no one around. This may sound weird but I really liked it. Next week we actually move to working later so I will lose my hour of quiet time. DH has 100% not liked this as I'm not home to deal with dinner.
Last weekend I cancelled plans and had a lazy weekend. I did this for me as DD had the energy to go do all the stuff.
Next week/month work will really ramp up so I'm not sure how to fit in me time. I'm open to suggestions.

I've been getting better at planning meals and cooking at home. I'm still consistently going to the gym at least 4 days a week. I'm very close to meeting my mini arbitrary goal at the gym of bench pressing 185 pounds. My max is 180 and I tried 185 yesterday but I couldn't quite make it.
I still need to work on decluttering. Just keeping up with the day to day stuff around the house keeps me from doing anything extra. And I really haven't been home much.
I had a few health-related goals and am making progress on most of them. I'm eating lighter/healthier and have lost a few pounds. I'm going to OrangeTheory more frequently. And beat my PRs in my 30 and 45 minute peloton rides. The one goal that I'm not doing well on is trying to have lights out by 11 pm most nights. Generally it's not too much later, but I was doing some travel research and also have been reading some good books and staying up a little too late.

My goal was to exercise more but also have fun with it. I’ve been enjoying my rower well enough but I have not gotten outside quite as much as I’d planned. We did take our kayak out a few weeks ago and have three more trips planned with it in the next two months, so I’m excited about that. I want to hit a few hiking locations before it gets hot too.
My goal is to continue with taekwondo this year. So far I am having a lot of fun with it especially since DD is taking class with me too. I'd like to work on my flexibility and strength, especially in my hips and ankles. I've found a yoga program that should help me do full splits by the end of the year. I also need some PT on my right elbow which I'll start when my new better health insurance starts next month.

I'm trying to make this the year that I finally lose the weight that I've put on over the last few years.... H got me a package to Orange Theory Fitness (which I really wanted so that was great!), but I forgot about all the sports the kids were starting so its been hard to find time for everything. Hoping I will find my groove soon!
