We are looking at going to Atlantis over spring break. However I see that most of the water stuff is for kids 48”. My son is 47.25” — have you been before and know how strict it is? will he be close enough to make it work?
No experience with Atlantis but with other water parks and amusement parks we've been to they are very strict. I personally would wait until he's tall enough.

We've been to several water and amusement parks and they are all very strict. Most water parks even specify that height is measured in "bare feet", so I don't think the water shoe suggestion would work either. I'd delay the trip until he is taller, or just accept that he probably won't be able to ride everything.
I haven't been to Atlantis but we did go to a resort with a water park this fall, where the requirement was also 48" and my son was about 0.5" short. In the end, they let him squeeze by but another boy who was just a hair shorter was not allowed. So I wouldn't count on it, unfortunately.
We were there last April and they checked at the bottom and sometimes the top again. I don't remember if they made kids take watershoes off or not because my kids are very tall.
