Why is it that every time I'm about to switch my dog's food or talk to the vet about how she doesn't eat enough does she then start eating like a normal dog?
Is it possible that she's just sick of eating the same kibble every day? I've learned that I can't give her the same Dentabone brand every day and I need to alternate 2 brands so she actually eats them...I wonder if she's doing the same with her kibble.
In non-dog related news, we booked flights to see my grandma when she turns 99. My aunt had all of these big plans for 100, but we landed on not waiting and repeating plans when she turns 100.
My kids are going to be so pumped. MH and I are trying to figure out if we should modify our plans (Southwest) and fly into Orlando and spend 2 days at Universal then drive a few hours to grandma. We looked into Disney, but a friend who used to be a travel agent told us not to bother with that quick of a turn around (she said it would be too stressful for us, given our personalities).
I'm teleworking, which would usually mean soft pants and no makeup, but I've got a haircut this morning so I'm wearing jeans and will go slap on some makeup so I don't look like a troll in the salon lighting. Really looking forward to the shampoo/scalp massage though!
We got a dusting of snow last night, and it's so pretty- first snow of the year here, which is kind of nuts. Shocked that school didn't call a delay.

DH's cousin bought a popcorn business this past year. I just put in an order for some flavored popcorn to give the kids for Valentines Day. The store is several states away, so have to order online. As I get to the payment screen I see a $9 tip is automatically added. I'm a good tipper too, but this is just out of control tipping for an online order. I did not go in and remove it since it is family, but would have if we weren't related. Shakes my fist at all this excessive tipping nonsense.
I have a cousin who I am not close with-we live in different areas and he’s also 15 yrs older than me come to my house last night because he happened to be here for another reason. It was sort of odd but pleasant at the same time.
I bought a McCormick black pepper ceramic vase (utensil holder?) at an estate sale. It looks like a giant spice tin, love it. But it came in a lot with a bunch of random old actual spice tins and an ancient jar of Postum. I don’t want any of that.
I put some up on eBay because I thought maybe vintage kitchen people might like it. Worth a shot.
Why did 3 men DM me to ask if there is still Postum in the jar and how did I just sell it for $40? It has to be 50 years old! Please tell me people aren’t going to try to drink this.

I would almost wonder if that was a glitch. Do they do a lot of online sales?

I’m thinking about booking a trip to Japan for my daughter and I through Girl Scouts. I went to the informational zoom last night and was surprised at how affordable it would be, especially since we wouldn’t go until 2025.
She asked me what I was watching and I told her and she started jumping up and down.
I am so sad that we haven't had snow yet this winter and the last real accumulation (only a couple of inches) was a year ago tomorrow. I know because I ordered two sleds from Amazon on that day last year because I really wanted to go sledding and I couldn't find any locally. Well they still haven't been used and it's tragic.
Our youngest dog rarely has an accident inside but occasionally the routine gets off and it happens. She always pees in front of the toilet if she does have an accident. She is clearly extremely intelligent, right?
More ice coming today, I guess everything will stay closed and our car will sit at the dealership another day lol. I may need to schedule a grocery delivery for Friday morning because even if they can start looking at it tomorrow, I doubt we'd have it back in a day.

Was it a $45 order of popcorn? Just curious what % is being automatically added in.
Welp, DS tested positive for Covid yesterday so he’ll be home the rest of the week (his birthday is tomorrow, so that’s a bummer). So far he just has minor cold symptoms. I’ve tested negative twice but have a bit of a stuffy nose so I’m guessing I have it.
His party is scheduled for this Saturday so my plans for today are to try to reschedule with the party place, then text all of the kids’ parents to see if they can make it on the new date 🤦🏽♀️
I have so much to do, and instead of just diving in and making headway on SOMETHING/ANYTHING, I'm just marveling at the seemingly insurmountable pile of work. Wahhhh. Help me.
I am working on meal planning for next week so I can go to the grocery store today, but I am so tired of eating all the same things. But I'm also tired of coming up with new things that my kids will actually eat. Why do they insist on eating every night?
I need to sweep, mop, and vacuum today and I don't want to.
We got new neighbors this fall, and I am kind of baffled by them. We live in a townhouse so we have shared walls. I've only met the woman once when we happened to both be outdoors at the same time and I introduced myself, but I haven't met the man and I'm not sure if any other adults live there - there are a lot of people coming and going all the time and it's not always the same cars parked in their spots. We've also had several times when we got home at night and a car was parked in OUR spot, which is annoying but we have a decent amount of guest parking so at least I could park there. I've left a note the last 2 times this happened but they were 2 different cars so who knows if this will continue.
Anyway, in addition to that, there is often a sound for multiple hours in the evening that sounds like something thunking against the wall. It also often sounds like people running up and down stairs for lengths of time. Then, they also play their music loudly - not so loudly that it is harming us, but enough that we can hear it. Last night I took the recycling outside around 9pm and I could hear very loud talking on what sounded like a microphone - followed by clapping, like someone gave a speech and then received applause. It was in another language so I have no idea what they were saying, so it's hard to know what was going on.
I guess none of this would sound too crazy weird except last week they put what looks like an elephant foot made into a stool on their porch? I assumed it was meant for the trash but it's still there. I think this is super disturbing, not to mention illegal.
I guess there is no point to this post other than to say that I wish we had gotten different neighbors, lol. I was really hoping for a couple without children so we could be friends! They did buy the place so I'm afraid we may be stuck with them for a long time. I am hoping once the weather is nicer we'll properly meet them and they will turn out to be nice?

It was $60 before taxes and shipping for the popcorn (got some for a few other people too). So 15%.
I'm so annoyed with the lack of regulation for supplements in the US. My DD uses melatonin to help her go to sleep. Since melatonin is a supplement, there are no real standards, and the quality is so inconsistent! At least a few times a year, when we switch bottles, she has issues falling asleep.
She switched bottles 3 nights ago and has struggled with sleep 2/3 of those nights. Obviously, we're throwing out this bottle and purchasing a new one for tonight!
wildrice my guess that this weirdness is either church or MLM related. Our former neighbors were high up in the Amway pyramid and it was a similar situation at their home.
As for the elephant foot garbage can, hopefully it's fake or an antique. One of my relatives has a gorgeous coffee table that is inlaid with ivory. It's been handed down several generations, but she said she still feels guilty about having it in her home.

I realized I haven’t cooked in months! Probably since September? One of these days I should probably give my partner a break, but he hasn’t said anything so I think I’ll keep quiet!
We got our report back about K and as I suspected she does have ADHD, inattentive (like her me), dyslexia and also an issue with auditory processing and handwriting. We are now looking at several private schools in our area that are geared to kids with learning and processing challenges like she is facing. We will also have to get her working with an OT for the handwriting and more private speech as well as a regular therapist. It is a lot, but it feels good to have answers. I also feel like I have dropped the ball and feel terrible that she has really been struggling.
For me, I am wrapping up review for the HESI A2 for nursing school. I did some research and the school I am planning to attend does have a good reputation in the area and has a working relationship with a big hospital in our area, which is good. I am still going to try and reach out to a nurse recruiter to see what they say regarding being able to get hired where I would want to work.
Oh and still trying to get my house in order. I am nearing the point where I just want to chuck it all. Oh and I am praying I can find my diagnostic reports from high school regarding my ADHD so I can get meds. I find it annoying that I need to do this. This is not something that goes away. Symptoms might change, in terms of where you see your bigger challenges, but the condition does not go away. People pay thousands of dollars for screening and to expect it to be done more than once is kind of nuts.

I hadn't thought of MLM, but that would make sense! I did wonder if it was related to religion in some way. The microphone and clapping thing really threw me off, especially in combination with the elephant foot thing.
I am pretty sure it's a real foot - it has hair and toenails But hopefully it is just old (I guess I would assume so). I would post a pic but I don't want to upset anyone - I find it really disturbing! I did take a picture and then realized they have a Ring camera so they probably have footage of me taking a pic, lol. Whoops.
