All this time, I've been thinking I can only make reservations on two days, because we only have park tickets for two days (good for any two days in a four-day window).
Am I actually able to make reservations for any point in that four-day window? Or park days + days we're checked into a hotel? Our window is 4/18 - 4/21; we check in on 4/18 and have park reservations on 4/19 and 4/20.
My kids aren't all that into characters, but I'd like to do at least one ADR, and we're staying at Disney Springs. Any recs? I assume the restaurants there are part of the res system, but please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thank you!
Pre-COVID, this was my best "hack" for feeling like we spent a day at Disney without actually paying for a day to go into the parks. All of the character meals not in the parks are in the hotels except for Trattoria Al Forno which doesn't have its character meal back yet. Also the Four Seasons Orlando has a character brunch with Goofy, Mickey and Minnie offered on select days of the week. It's my favorite character meal for the food, location, ambience, and it's not crazy crowded like Chef Mickey's. The only downside is that the Disney transportation doesn't go there so you'd have to either have a car or pay for a taxi/ride share.
Oh wow we do dining so different from most of you.
I generally reserve one breakfast or lunch a day plus dinner. Part of the appeal of vacation for us is eating out though and Disney has some great restaurants. You just (mostly) have to leave the parks to find them. I need the dining as a break from all the people, too. I don't find it takes too long.
I have found that Covid ruined buffets for me. We did Crystal Palace last trip and I was so uncomfortable the whole time. Little kids kept running up disregarding serving utensils and I ended up barely eating anything. We are crossing all of those off our list for now.
