I am meeting a friend for dinner and drinks tonight and I am so glad. I’m tempted to walk to the restaurant so I can have several margaritas, but maybe I’ll just have H drop me instead.
Tomorrow we have nothing going on. DD’s guitar lesson was canceled this weekend. DD1 is likely having a friend over, I think H promised to design/build something with DD2. More power to them, I’m gardening. One has a limited time in February to prep before the natural state of Florida tries to reclaim the land with vines and heat and I take full advantage.
Sunday we are visiting bunch of H’s relatives. He thinks we will also drop by his friend’s Super Bowl party clear across the state but I think he’s deluding himself.
Tomorrow we're going to look at a house and beau has to run into work for a couple hours in the evening so I'll probably do a movie night with the kids. It's our tradition when we're home without him.
Sunday we have no plans at all. We half-heartedly invited friends over, then it dawned on us that they have a 1.5 year old and the game is on at bedtime and our house is not baby-proofed. So we'll probably tell them don't worry about it. Another friend invited us to a party that their friend is having. I'm not really feeling it to attend a friend of a friend party with the three kids. So maybe we'll just make a bunch of snacks in our new air fryer and have our own little football party here? Who knows how it will all shake out.
ETA - oh! And I got to see my boudoir photos today and choose all the photos I want included in the album! I loved almost all of them. I'm going to get the digital versions back before Valentine's Day and then the album will ship later. That's going to be a nice surprise for beau!
I’m on the healing trajectory. Stopped taking the major pain killers and just using Tylenol. Digestive system finally working or overworking again, so I cut out another medication. So basically just down to Tylenol, antibiotic and Zofram if needed. I also have this devise that buzzes to help heal but it is annoying. I can’t wait until post op which is Wednesday and get rid of it. With that, I am wrapped tightly so I can’t use ointments. I’m not the most patient person but not much I can do. I may have DH wash my hair at some point.
DH has 2 games and a birthday party to facilitate tomorrow.
It’s been a crazy week for sure. DD1 just had her MRI on her arm, and DD2 is at foot skills. Then dd1 has a late bball game tonight. She can’t play, but she wants to watch so I will go and help coach.
Tomorrow dd2 has a 7am indoor soccer game (so that’s a 6am wake up) then an 850 basketball game - so we will head right there. Then we are done for the day. DD1 has a basketball game for her rec team at noon, but she doesn’t care to go since she can’t play - fine with me!
DH and I might try to sneak out Saturday evening for dinner since we’ve been housebound for a few weekend. I totally don’t care about the Super Bowl so no parties, but we will make snacks and watch a bit for the ads.
I'm working tomorrow. DD is coming to the office to work on her Egypt project and to figure out her cake baking supply list.
Sunday is all the house stuff laundry, cleaning, dog stuff, etc. DD is creating her pyramid out of cake Sunday so I will be her sous chef or cleanup crew.
I somehow smashed up my pinky finger. It is black and blue and hurts in my hand. I only had vet wrap tape at work and that just made my fingers stick to paper. I've Macgyvered it and used hair ties to buddy tape my finges. Also, you really need both hands to type.
Coworker/BFF was in town last night because we were hosting an important meeting in my office today, so last night we went out with some old friends from when she used to live here, and that was fun. DH finished his federal jury case, so that's good - I was not enjoying providing all kid transportation on my own for a few days.
Normal kids sports this weekend (softball, baseball, and soccer), then we'll have our friends and my parents over Sunday afternoon to watch the Super Bowl Sunday. I love being on the West coast and having it on early.
No visible fractures on the X-ray but lots is fluid so she went for an MRI this afternoon. It was a 3rd party MRI place so they will have to send the results to her dr… so I don’t know when we will hear.
She said her elbow is better with Advil but her wrist is not. I’m hoping for the best…
Thank you for asking and I’m glad you’re on the mend!

Beau and I are going out to dinner tonight. Tomorrow we may or may not go to the gym in the morning, then we have pedicure appointments in the afternoon, and will head towards Seattle to stay overnight. Sunday we fly out bright and early to Los Cabos! I'm so excited. I need a break from everything. Right now the forcast is showing low 70's, but that's ok with me. I just happy we'll see some sun and enjoy an all inclusive resort.
Chilling at home tonight. We put together the wine rack I got for Christmas and Dd is having friends over. Tomorrow, we have a steak dinner, reverse raffle and dance so that should be fun. Sunday, we were invited to a super bowl party, but we will see Joe tired we are from Saturday.
We watched a movie tonight as a family. I always love when we do that. I was on one couch with DS propping his feet on me from one side, a cat propping his back feet on me from the other side, and our other cat walking back and forth making biscuits while DH and DD sat on the other couch.
Tomorrow I may take the kids to an indoor water park while DH does a long marathon training run. Sunday we are all going to see Gypsy at the community theater. I fully expect I will have to leave with DS at intermission.
Going skiing tomorrow with friends. There is no snow, and I decided I didn’t really want to drop $200 so I’m not going to ski - lodge mom for me. We’ll come home on Sunday, DD2 has soccer, then Super Bowl! I’m mad we have school on Monday.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

I tested positive today so had to officially pass the baton for the Valentine’s Day party at school. I handed over my beautiful schedule, supplies and plan and know the kids will have a great time but sad to miss it. I hope ds is negative by Tuesday so he can go! He missed the first two days of the puberty talk at school too so we are hoping they allow him to join in for the rest since he had to be out because of COVID. Thankfully he feels fine and is totally back to normal just in time for me to start feeling bad.
Ds2 has a soccer game tomorrow so I hope we can park by the fence so I can watch from the car.
Otherwise all plans are cancelled for the next week and I’m wfh. I had planned to take Tuesday off to volunteer but now think I’ll probably just work and try to take it a bit easier next week to fight this thing off faster.
